Recap and most important takeaway from @DisneyMoms Disney Social Media Moms Celebration "On-the-Road" event in New York City #DisneySMC #WordlessWednesday

Note: This is NOT a compensated post. Thank You Disney Parks for inviting me to your NYC On-the-Road event. This is event recap coverage.

Unlike most bloggers, I do not get all tingly from an invite from Disney.
There is a very specific reason I feel that way.

I attended a press screening and my guest was Mama Butterfly (MY MOM), when I take her to screenings, she needs to be on a specific side of the theater to be able to see the screen properly. I always arrange in advance before taking her to screenings, usually we only need to arrive early to make that happen.

I checked in for the screening and was told that press seating was fine and we were super early.

After the theater was practically all full we were asked to move in a very rude manner. I asked to speak to the rep that said we would be fine where we were. I was told they didn't know where the rep was or even 'who it was'.

Eventually this rep tried to reach out for Mama Butterfly (the rep was closer to her than she was to me). That is an absolute no-no. My mom has health problems and even if she didn't there was no need for that rep to touch anyone. I was already blogging professionally at that point, so at that moment I knew I was representing my brand, while I did sternly warn her to keep her hands to herself, I managed to suppress my knee jerk reaction to use my various years of martial arts training, block her hand and then proceed to break it. Needless to say I am quite proud of myself for reigning it in. It takes a lot to get me there, but once I am that heated it is difficult for me not to see red, especially when it comes to my mom. Especially from a brand that touts how family friendly they are. That was NOT friendly.

Needless to say that day I emailed Disney as far up the food chain at that time as I could.

After over a week, I got an email telling me to "get over it".

And that was the end of that.

In my book they owe her and me a proper apology. I had heard so much about their customer service, that the entire experience and the very poor follow up left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I had stopped dealing with them entirely for years, even asked to never be emailed again. But they are a large organization, and different PR teams often handle different event types.

I eventually attended a press event for Maleficent in New York City. I was nervous dealing with them again for another screening especially, but this was a PR firm I had already worked with for a very long time. I was a professional film critic many moons ago for a well known newspaper, so it is rare I take on screenings now, they still feel like 'busman's holiday'.  I am happy to report that the event and the movie were great! I even ran into several celebrities, including Kevin Hart who were coming out of other screenings in the theater that night.

I guess when I covered that movie it opened the floodgates again.

There had been a few invites after Maleficent (I hadn't attended) when in early May this year an invite for Disney Social Media Moms Celebration "On-the-Road" event in New York City hit my inbox, as I had attended this event once before years ago and this focuses more on the Parks I thought I would reluctantly give it a go. As you guys know I do not have kids, and have never considered myself a 'mom blogger'. As a former Special Ed teacher I have a solid expertise  in educational products and toys, so I get that even though I do not consider myself a mom focused writer, that I do still have a strong influence in that segment.

I have never been to any Disney Park, nor have I attended the conference in Orlando. Who knows, maybe this will open up a bridge that will take me to the parks sometime soon?

This was a one day event held at Kimpton 48Ink hotel in Manhattan. As you can see from the birthday decor (check out my Instagram photo taken the day of the event HERE) they were preparing us for something BIG - Walt Disney World Resort's upcoming 50th Anniversary in 2021! That is certainly quite a milestone!

The one day roaming conference, gave attendees a mix of blogging and influencer related do's-and-dont's and an overview of what's new and upcoming.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house after they shared a video on Cheri Srour, who was a typical teen living in Brooklyn, New York until she was hit with an autoimmune neurological disorder at the age of 18 leaving her paralyzed, on a ventilator and fighting for her life. Part of her recovery included participating in the four runDisney Disney Princess Half Marathons at Walt Disney World Resort.

As someone who has dealt with a health battle of my own, I was inspired by learning of her story. I have never run a marathon before, but her story made me motivated to add this to my bucket list!

Above: I love that Cheri opted to join us on the rooftop later that day for a Photo Opp with Mickey and Minnie!

Kristyn Merkley, Founder of blog lilluna.com held a panel that detailed the importance of SEO. It couldn't be more timely for me as Ascending Butterfly turns 10 years old this year in June (honestly it's 11 but for some weird reason my Google Analytics are not accounting for the fact that I started BEFORE I secured the domain) so it's actually 11 but Google says 10. I am toying with either re-designing this site completely or re-branding and doing something completely new.

Disney wasn't done with the special guests, Gio Benitez, ABC News Correspondent shared with us about how one simple moment launched his career in Media. An iPhone Video he took went viral while he was working at a news agency in Miami. His emphasis on being open to possibilities, and his advice to all influencers on being 'authentic' definitely resonated with me. I think Social Media gets so caught up on an idealized version of 'perfection' that what makes the internet truly great often gets lost. I love that the internet helps folks to find their tribe. More often than not what goes 'viral' and 'trends' are those random real life moments.

WHAT'S NEW:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - On May 31st Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will open, the new attraction will debut on August 29, 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort.  It will include dining, shopping and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Disney Cruise Line is returning to Greece after five years, The Disney Magic will be sailing in the summer of 2020 with 9 and 12-night Greek Isle Voyages. (That is going to be a milestone year for me as well, and Greece is on my travel bucket list!)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Back by popular demand is Star Wars Day at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea which will offer 5 and 7-night sails on the Disney Magic and Disney Fantasy, there will be character encounters, live shows and action-packed entertainment!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Coming in 2021 Adventures by Disney which offers guided group vacations around the world will soon offer a new 10-day Egypt Vacation tour. (Another Destination on my travel bucket list).

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Disney announced plans to build three new cruise ships, completing one ship every year for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023 (ships yet to be named).

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - The NBA Experience will open on August 12, 2019 at Disney Springs with 13 interactive elements and hands on activities across 44,000 square feet and two floors! (Channel your inner Kobe or LeBron!)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - On October 01, 2019, prepare for a limited-time fireworks show called "Epcot Forever", taking you through the past, present and future of Epcot.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - In 2021 coming to Epcot for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort is a "Guardians of the Galaxy" themed indoor roller coaster in Epcot's Future World. It is slated to be one of the world's longest enclosed roller coasters.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Disney Parks Jewelry by Rebecca Hook! Attendees received a gift bag filled with goodies including a super cute pair of Minnie Mouse earrings from the Rebecca Hook Jewelry Collection, this collection was designed exclusively for Disney Parks. Fellow New Yorkers take note her collection will be coming to the Disney Store in Time Square Manhattan for a Trunk Show on June 7th and June 8th.

Above: Nothing better than a Mickey and Minnie Mouse Meet and Greet and Photo Opp on a rooftop! This is the rooftop view from Kimpton Ink48 Hotel in Manhattan, New York City! (If you are wondering the animal print dress is by Calvin Klein purchased at Macy's and the boots are from Earth Footwear!)

MY TAKE:

I have always felt it is better to be storyteller - whether it's words on a blog - or with photos that come alive by capturing a moment. It's the authenticity that turns someone into an 'influencer'. I haven't had much time to write in the past year for so many reasons, my numbers have taken a hit because of it, but my years of authentic community building have made it so that amazing event invites still flood my inbox - many more than I could even take on if I wanted to.

It was refreshing to hear from team Disney that brands including their own are getting better at separating those who 'buy' their influence and following from those who don't. It still feels like brands say this but are not actually there yet. But as someone who has done Public Relations and Event Management I understand that it is challenging to find someone who has that great balance between numbers, engagement and organic following. I love that brands are starting to become more aware of this.

It may sound cliche, but our biggest takeaway was to continue to be true to YOURSELF, be authentic and the opportunities will follow.

There was also great SEO advice that I need to work on implementing.

You have seen the movie about a thousand times, but have you checked out @PrettyWoman The Musical yet? #PrettyWomanTheMusical

This post is made possible by support from Pretty Woman: The Musical. All opinions are my own

Pretty Woman: The Musical, Logo

Looking for a creative gift idea for Mother's Day?

How about a night on Broadway?

If your mom (or any special lady in your life that you are gifting for Mother's Day) loves the theater like mine does or loves the movie Pretty Woman, she will definitely love Pretty Woman: The Musical playing at Nederlander Theater, 208 West 41st Street in New York City!

ABOUT:

Pretty Woman: The Musical combines the beloved romance movie you already know and love with an original score with music and lyrics by Grammy Award Winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and choreography by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell.

How did it come together?

Check out this neat video:

Based on the Julia Roberts-Richard Gere movie about a star crossed meeting between a sex worker (Vivian) and a disillusioned businessman (Edward), this contemporary stage adaptation of the popular romantic comedy stars Samantha Barks as Vivian, and Andy Karl as Edward.

Samantha Barks and Julia Roberts, Pretty Woman: The Musical
Above: Left to Right, Samantha Barks and Julia Roberts (this was for the Gary Marshall Tribute Performance,  the producers announced that a seat in the back row of the theater will include a plaque in his honor)

Did you know originally (for the movie version) Vivian was slated to die of a drug overdose? I had no idea, but I am glad that was changed!

Both the movie and broadway production are based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, and in the iconic Opera Scene - both the play and the movie - the couple watch the Opera 'La Traviata' by Verdi, which tells the story of a Parisian Courtesan who falls in love with an older, wealthy man.

True to the movie is the signature red dress, and presentation of a 'borrowed' Diamond Necklace complete with Edward snapping the box playfully and Vivian's Booming laugh! I give Samantha so much credit for making the role her own without it being an exact copy of the original.

The shopping scene is still there, and watching those snooty, bougie, department store assistants get theirs just never gets old.

The entire cast definitely deliver a high energy performance, but I will admit Orfeh who portrays Vivian's friend Kit (played by Laura San Giacomo in the movie) and Eric Anderson as concierge Mr. Thompson (played by Hector Elizondo in the film) are truly standouts! Eric plays multiple roles in the production and literally gives you *EVERYTHING* in each scene where he appears. Another scene stealer is Tommy Braco as the bellhop "Giulio" who brings a great deal of comic relief.

There are some changes, Vivian does not sing along to Prince's "Kiss" in the bath tub scene, Edward does not have a mane of sexy gray hair, and another more major change, 'Stuckey' is the one that gets slapped first! You guys have no idea how much I hated Jason Alexander after seeing the film, in the musical, Stuckey is portrayed by Jason Daniely. Edward and Stuckey are both noticeably younger in this stage version, but Stuckey is still as greedy and slimy as ever.

Above: This amazing blogger night on Broadway included a talk back and Q&A with the cast.

Center: Check out Orfeh's super cute furbaby curled up on her lap!

Above: The empowering posters in the lobby were a hit for post play photos - you know for the gram! Red Coat is from Wallis Fashion US, top is by Calvin Klein, Jeans: Silver Jeans, Handbag from DSW and the Boots: Earth Shoes Raleigh - these 100% waterproof tall boots with lacing details up the back (allowing you to widen them or tighten them so you have a custom fit calf) a full length side zipper, are sadly now out of stock! (I have them in the Bridle Brown which I love - I wish I had nabbed them in black as well)

My Take:

Age 13 and up is recommended for Pretty Woman: The Musical and with good reason, world's oldest profession, dead prostitute scene, and a sexy scene with Vivian and Edward, I would go a bit more conservative and restrict this to older teens and leave the younger teens and defintely the littles with a sitter!

I would have liked Edward to have the silver fox hair like Richard Gere and definitely for them to have left Prince's 'Kiss' as the song in the bubble bath scene, but understandably with Bryan Adams doing the original score for the production, the music is a bit different from the movie.

And while I love the creativity and how many stage productions are going more high tech to tell their stories, I appreciated that this production was not relying solely on tech to immerse you into the story. I found it pretty upbeat considering the subject matter, it pays homage to the film without being too much of a copycat of it, and the actors bring so much energy to their performances, you definitely want to be sure to catch this one before it leaves in 2020!

Let's Digest @GameOfThrones Season 8 Episode 1 Together Shall We? We laughed, We Cried, We read the memes! #GoT #gameofthrones #gots8 #gameofthronesseason8 #demthrones

This is all Spoilers so if you haven't watched it, come back once you have! So much to digest (in no particular order):

(1) The Dragons watching Jon Snow get busy with his Aunt! If you thought it was bad enough to have a dog or cat watching you, imagine a dragon watching you get busy! Although the Dragons watching were less creepy than Tyrion right outside their door listening to them, what was that about?
(2) Tormund is alive! Although his blue eyes almost got him killed again, in what had to be the funniest scene of this episode! Please hurry up and reunite him with Brienne. (although everyone says Brienne loves Jaime, I want her with Tormund!) Don't you want just one person to look at you the way Tormund does with Brienne?
(3) Is it wrong to say Theon Greyjoy finally grew a nut/pair? Oops, too soon? My bad! LOL

(4) The side eye between Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen was literally EVERYTHING!
(5) Sam's face when Daenerys told him she killed his father and brother. OUCH!
(6) Cersei thinking some Elephants are going to sway things in her favor....although we must give her credit for the most quoted of the night on twitter with:

"You want a Whore, Buy One. You want a Queen, Earn Her"
(7) Bran is going to get frostbite sitting out there all day and night like that, just saying! And the 'church lady' judgmental face he has been giving everyone this episode is on point! LOL
(8) Who else jumped out their skin when the kid on the wall started screaming? Although I do love how folks are making some interesting speculations about the fire pattern and its resemblance to the Targaryen house.
(9) Jon reuniting with Arya. Third funniest moment, when he asked if she ever used 'needle', she said 'once or twice'.....Tee hee!
(10) Arya and The Hound's reunion? GULP! All the memes offering him chicken though on Twitter kept me laughing out loud.
(11) Jaime and Bran's reunion? AWKWARD! (Above: Jaime pushes Bran from the Tower in Season one) In this episode Bran tells Samwell Tarly he is waiting for an 'old friend' to arrive to Winterfell. You know what they say, 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'! Can I get a 'frenemies' up in here?
(12) Episode one of Season 8 and everyone asking "Where's Ghost?' - all we know is that Ghost is still alive, but if he will come back remains to be seen. He better not have blue eyes either!
(13) Jon and Dany riding Dragons together prompted quite a few how to train your dragon memes on twitter. and finally: Jon is king Aegon Targaryen, Sixth of his name, Protector of the Realm! There was a lot going on in this Episode, it's going to be quite a final season!
Readers: Was there a highlight of this Episode you want to talk about that is not listed above? Who do YOU think will end up on the Iron Throne?

Not so #WordlessWednesday - What are the signs of Spring in New York City? The Ice Cream Truck and the @NYBG Orchid Show! Sponsored by @Citi and supported by @stb_sg #plantlove

I was beginning to think the Groundhog lied and that Spring would never visit New York City, I mean we recently had SNOW!

This year is my 10 year blogaversary and my birthday is coming up in April - I am so revved up for Spring and warmer weather!

Signs of Spring are finally beginning to show here in New York City. Two solid signs of Spring in my neck of the woods are the sounds of the ice cream truck and the annual Orchid Show at New York Botanical Garden.

It's a show I try hard not to miss and this year the theme is "Singapore". This is the 17th year of The New York Botanical Garden's popular orchid exhibition. It was developed in partnership with Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Botanic Gardens. Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board.

Since I am so lucky to have The New York Botanical Gardens so close to where I live, it was much like taking a trip to Singapore without the expensive airplane tickets!

Let me take you through the highlights of the Media/Press Preview Day:

Empanaology, Empanadas, Empanada, Food, Foodie
Above: Members of the Press were greeted with the most delicious Breakfast Empanadas from Empanology. I love Breakfast and I love Empanadas, this combo is definitely working for me! This nod to Puerto Rican Culture right here in the Boogie Down Bronx couldn't have made me more proud.

Empanaology, Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Food, Foodie
Above: Couldn't resist nabbing this earthy logo shot - All meat and poultry used is sourced through local farmers raising hormone and antibiotic-free animals, serving locally-sourced product and pasture-raised dairy. The New York Botanical Garden has been inviting so many interesting food vendors to their events and I am so glad that they put Empanology on my radar, I definitely have to visit them at their 2407 Third Avenue Bronx, NY location soon!

Empanaology, Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Food, Foodie
Above: Yes, I took TWO! (In all fairness, it was one of each variety, I had to try them both out of course, it's my job as press!) They both taste as good as they look too! YUMMY! It definitely reminded me of the empanadas we would buy before hitting the beaches in Puerto Rico. This media day literally took me to two places - Puerto Rico with these empanadas and Singapore with the amazing exhibit. This is totally activating my wanderlust!

The Uptown Vegan, Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Food, Foodie, Sweets,Treats
Above: The Uptown Vegan was also on deck with sweets and treats and I am a bit pleased with how this shot captures the signage against the snowy ground with the Enid Haupt Conservatory in the background! I am also experimenting with my watermark (can you see it?)

Supertree of Gardens by the Bay Singapore Replica, Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Orchid, Orchids, Flowers
Above: The iconic Supertrees of Gardens by the Bay recreated at The New York Botanical Gardens, you know Ascending Butterfly is always looking up, instead of a boring shot from faraway just so you can see how tall it is, I wanted to shoot it from a lower perspective looking up.

Replication of The Famed Arches of Singapore Botanic Gardens, National Orchid Garden, Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Orchid, Orchids, Flowers
Above: The Famed Arches of Singapore Botanic Gardens' National Orchid Garden are replicated to perfection in the Enid Haupt Conservatory of The New York Botanical Gardens

Vanda Awkwafina hybrid Orchid, Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Orchid, Orchids, Flowers
Above: At the Media preview we got to meet 'Awkwafina' -Vanda Awkwafina that is! A Vanda hybrid of Susan Best x Crownfox Black Forest.

"We think Awkwafina is the perfect choice because of her accomplishments in music and film as well as her prominence as a native New Yorker." ~ Marc Hachadourian, NYBG's Director of Glasshouse Horticulture and Senior Curator of Orchids

I want a flower named after me too! Come on, wouldn't an Ascending Butterfly Flower be perfect for The New York Botanical Garden?

Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Orchid, Orchids, Flowers
Above: I wish my template allowed this one to be bigger, please press this photo to see it full size, the details here and drops of dew falling off the flowers and frozen in time makes this one of my favorite flower photos captured by me! And this is a compressed version of it because my blog template doesn't allow me to post RAW photo files, in RAW format this is even more stunning.

Enid Haupt Conservatory, The New York Botanical Gardens, Orchid, Orchids, Flowers
Above: Look a rare butterfly sighting! LOL You guys know I am much more comfortable behind the camera and way less comfortable in front of it, but with a backdrop like this I literally couldn't resist. (Just sad the photographer didn't nab a full length and get my cute new boots!) Spot my logo watermark?

MY TAKE:

The show runs from February 23rd through April 28, 2019 and is part of NYBG's year-long theme #plantlove featuring exhibitions, programs, and projects exploring the essential connections between plants, people and the environment.

It had actually recently snowed so my plans to wear a cute spring dress were dashed by the need to keep warm - hopefully I can hit one of the Orchid Evenings when the weather gets better and get a more dressy shot of myself with the orchids as a backdrop to all my fabulosity! :)

And no, I haven't forgotten about you butterflies. I am working on a very epic project still in stealth mode which is why this post isn't accompanied by my usual Orchid Evenings tickets giveaway, stay tuned I hope to be able to offer a giveaway before the end of this amazing exhibition, I just need some time to come up for air on what I am working on right now. Which is why I wanted to get this post up so you would add the show to your list of fun spring things to do in the city!

I take inspired photos from this show every year, and it gives me the chance to practice my photography which got re-ignited after the devastating fire I suffered last year where I lost the majority of my photos! I have to start my Photo Memories all over again, now with a much greater perspective on exactly how valuable my visual memories really are.

I took 162 photos in total, editing all that and optimizing them for my template will take awhile, so you will definitely see more floral wordless wednesdays and I will try to get as many as possible on our Instagram Feed too! If you look on my Instagram, there is a very zen video of the Three Graces Fountain inside of the Enid Haupt Conservatory at The New York Botanical Garden HERE!

Now I need to follow this with a trip to both Puerto Rico and Singapore - Tourism Boards are you reading this? :)

#ad - {Calling All #Fashion Lovers! #GIVEAWAY} Ascending Butterfly is bringing back our "Featured #Handbag In The Spotlight" with a #DesignerHandbag from @claralumeshop and a Valentines Day Themed Twitter Party too! + EXCLUSIVE Discount Code! #ClaraLumé

DISCLOSURE: This is a sponsored post and part of a compensated campaign for Clara Lumé

After the major fire I dealt with last year, I have found myself very much in a 'starting over' position. Not exactly a fun place to be. That actually was just one of many challenges on my plate last year. My handbag collection was one of my treasures and having to start that again from scratch feels like an incredibly daunting task.

I started this empowerment community in 2008, because nothing like it existed at the time. I was looking for empowerment that wasn't necessarily spiritual, I was a long time life coach looking for my own inspiration. I couldn't find it, so I created it.

'Blogging my way through it' has really been my therapy, and in doing so, I found my tribe. People who wanted a place to turn that was positive. A moment of light.

With Valentine's Day swiftly approaching, I wanted to find a way to give my butterflies a gift and bring back my all time favorite regular feature!

I have decided this year I do not want to stick with what I know, I do not want to play it safe, it is time to turn heads! And this Valentine's Day Recommendation and our first Featured Handbag in the Spotlight for 2019 is definitely going to help me achieve that goal.

I have a few Valentine's Day Recos, but I can't help but to start with this one and when you see the bag you will totally get why!

There are several passions I have often dreamed of turning into a full time business (and in some cases have been approached to do so):

Handbag Design (I have been approached about this, but haven't found the right partner yet)

Creating my own Scent (I sort of do this already, I also do it with lipstick)

Owning a Winery (Champagne or Prosecco Please!)

Owning a Casino (I have been enjoying 'Casino-Cations' for years now, in different places, I can take the best from each and avoid the mistakes I have seen along the way, I'd be good at this!)

Some of these being a bit more do-able than others, but all vision board worthy!

One of the things I love do when I collaborate with Designers is pick their brain. I love to know what inspires fellow creatives. How dreamers bring their visions to life.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - When was Clara Lumé  formed?

Development of the Clara Lumé bag started in April of 2017. The product was released publicly in September of 2018.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  What was the inspiration for the design?

The original inspiration for the Clara Lumé bag was from Burning Man. I have been many times and I absolutely love the culture. Light up fashion is popular at the event and I found it very inspiring. Over the years I have developed and shared a number of art projects at the event. One of these projects was a set of light up coats. They were amazing, but they weren’t something that could be brought directly to the market for everyone to enjoy. They were just too expensive to build, too heavy, too hot, and too fragile for the general public. So, I looked for a way that I could share some of that fun but in an affordable and durable product. And that’s where the Clara Lumé bag came in.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  Can the fur be water treated like footwear to prevent stains? or is it just the leather that can be treated to prevent stains and make it easier to clean?

We do not recommend treating the fur with stain preventers. They often change the feel of the fur, and it’s not really necessary anyway. During development we tested many different fur products and one of the reasons we chose the one we did was because of its ability to resist staining. We tested red wine, cola, beer, and several other staining substances and found that they all could be easily removed with water alone. The fur fibers are very stain resistant. If something does get on your bag we recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth and a small amount of soap. Do not wet the fur all the way through as this can loosen the fibers.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  Will you offer interchangeable straps?

We are certainly planning on offering different length straps and other styles as well in the future.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  What is your typical day like, are you involved in other businesses in addition to Clara Lumé?

During development of the bag Clara Lumé was more than a full time job. Once the product was released and production was lined out, the work load started to decrease. As of the last few months I have been taking on other outside engineering consulting contracts to fill my time. As sales increase with Clara Lumé I suspect I will have to devote my entire energy to the business once again.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  Please consider making matching vests and boots! :)

Boots are on the horizon, but I need to get this product rolling steadily first.

I got my Clara Lumé Aurora bag all set up this weekend and it is making it's debut for New York Fashion Week events this month!

This bag is well crafted, super soft, and the unique light show feature is going to turn heads. I have had so much fun playing with the app and picking light shows for it that match my personality like Yin and Yang, Cross, Sensual Hearts and She's on Fire! (And don't think I wasn't pumping Alicia Keys' 'Girl on Fire' in tune to the light show on my Aurora!)

"Sensual Hearts" Light show - Clara Lumé Aurora Handbag

My Take:

I love that the Aurora Handbag has the light show on BOTH sides, and lets me express a wide range of moods at any given time. For my animal lovers, it's FAUX Fur, while it feels soft like a rabbit, no rabbits were harmed in the making of this handbag.

It gives me ski bunny realness and you are going to turn heads wearing this bag that's for sure!

I will post a photo of myself soon rocking my new Aurora handbag soon (Hmm....or maybe I will save it for the Twitter Party on Thursday!)

Hopefully in honor of our partnership they will develop a butterfly light show on the Aurora just for me!
