When a picture really does convey 1000 words! #WordlessWednesday #ontheblog #ShedtheSilence #Nutrafolpartner

I have super thin hair, and for Wordless Wednesday I couldn't help but share this photo of what I see after brushing my hair every morning:

This was actually a good day, usually the hair ball is WAY bigger! My stress levels have been through the roof this year and I am sure that is making the issue worse, way worse! I also tend to wear my hair in tight ponytails to keep it off my neck when I am busy. Which I am sure is not doing me any favors.

I found a wonderful community that is working to #ShedtheSilence and I am now a #Nutrafolpartner - for those of you with super great memories I had the pleasure of meeting Giorgos Tsetis who is the co-founder of NUTRAFOL at a BeautyPress Event in 2015, click HERE if you want to refresh your memory. I was quite impressed with NUTRAFOL and I love that they have started up a community for those who experience hair shedding, hair loss, Alopecia - it is something that is often difficult to talk about, and many people suffer with it in silence.

But there is no shame or stigma, as someone who has quite a few 'invisible illnesses' - including: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sciatica, Fibromyalgia, pinched nerve and numbness and a host more I have learned to rely heavily on my online communities to find support and get great tips and advice.

My Take:

While my hairstylists are always wonderful at creating styles that help me hide the areas where my hair is sparse and thin, it has always been something that I have been acutely aware of and very self conscious about. I am trying to find ways to reduce stress, make self care a priority daily, but this year it has been hard to put myself first. It has felt like my needs have taken a back seat, and it has certainly resulted in me experiencing an increase in stress and more hair shedding than usual.
