Who is your team, and how are they doing? My Take:

I love that Best Buy offers such a wide variety of Electronics at some of the most competitve prices out there! I recently had a Magnolia Home Theater experience at a Best Buy retail location and it made me realize just how much I need to update my Home Theater. I'd love to bring the 3D Experience into my home, and would love a Smart TV so I can run my favorite apps and watch movies on the big screen instead of my portable devices all the time. I don't have a coupon to share this time around, but wanted to remind you that Audio Fest is coming to a close soon and the prices on Audio Products at Best Buy during this promotional period are definitely worth jumping on. Just thought I'd add some more info to yesterday's post! I visited the Best Buy at 1880 Broadway for a Magnolia at Best Buy Home Theater Demo, at the end of the Demo I was given Ledisi's newest release The Truth, and a wristband that will grant me access to her autograph signing this Friday at the same store!

My friends at Best Buy sent me the JBL Flip Stereo Speaker and I'm totally digging on this Bluetooth wireless system for smartphones and tablets. It has two 1-5/8 inch (40-millimeter) drivers and a built-in bass port that delivers the exceptional bass sound that JBL is known for in a totally portable package! With this little wonder I can get up to 5 hours of playback time with it's built in Li-ion rechargeable battery which connects wirelessly to any Bluetooth-equipped device. It's a big sound, with great portability at a fantastic price! Right now it's $89.95 at Best Buy which is $30 lower than a leading competitor has it, just saying! (With Mother's Day coming up soon, and Dads and Grads month in June, buy it now at the sale price and tuck it away, I can't imagine who wouldn't be excited to get it!)

The writing is on the wall! Had to snap a picture of this infographic on the event space wall - With the DC59 cordless being able to pick up as much dust a corded vac and the DC65 cleaning better than any other vacuum across carpets and hardwood floors both with the Dyson Digital V6 Motor, what's NOT to love?

I am an Apartment Dweller based in New York City, which means hardwood floors (YAY for old pre-war apartments), but cramped for space. Keeping up with hardwood floors isn't very easy, and I have found that many vacuums weren't an option for me as they were great with carpets, but not so great on the hardwood.

Back in December I got to test out the Dyson DC44 Animal Stick Vac and I have to admit I was pretty impressed with the versatility, if you missed my review on that unit, press HERE.

Recently I got to attend a Dyson Event in New York City where they walked us through their available units, and gave us a live demo to show us how Dyson Products directly compare to other leading brands on the market. We were amazed just how much 'stuff' other products left behind! I loved that the demo area offered us the opportunity to see the products perform on variety of surfaces.

My friends at Best Buy pimped my floors by sending me the Dyson - DC65 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum in the Gray/Purple Color Combo, unlike the DC44 which I tried and the DC59 that are cordless, this one is corded, and right away I appreciated not having to worry about the 20 minute time frame that you are restricted to with the DC44. This unit being corded meant I didn't have to worry about whether or not it was on a full charge, and there was no time limit, so I could do the entire house in one shot instead of just a couple of rooms at a time until the unit re-charged. SCORE!

My Take:

Bye! Bye! Traditional Broom and dust pail, hello Dyson DC65, finally an upright that can tackle hardwood as well as carpet! I was impressed to see the side by side product comparison at the recent NYC Dyson Event, the proof was definitely in the pudding seeing what the other vacuums actually left behind, but getting to try it out at home on my own hardwood floors is what truly cinched the deal for me.

I am actually glad to have both the DC44 and the DC65 as they both have different strong points for me. To organize and get closets ready for spring I will be using the DC44 to stuff a ton of clothes into my Space Bags and save space! But it's the DC65 that will get the most day to day use on my hardwood floors! And like most people I look for ways to save, so while I like the DC44, having to leave it plugged into the wall, and having it always pull energy is not ideal for me, not to mention as an apartment dweller it's hard to find a dedicated plug for one item for me that stays there at all times, making the DC65 the one I would lean to a bit more often.

I don't have a coupon to share this time around, but I will definitely keep an eye out for them and update this post as soon as I find one.

While cleaning isn't quite 'sexy', the right tool for the right job is certainly helpful!

Best Buy Lunar New Year E-Gift Card

I'm pretty sure it's no surprise to regular readers that I have a fascination with Asian Art and Culture. It traces back to a beautiful Asian Jewelry Box that belonged to my Grandma, I admired it so as a little girl and it started a lifelong fascination with a culture that seemed like a world away at the time. In fact one of my handbag review and giveaways that is still the most popular is one that boasts an Asian design (check out that review HERE if you missed, just bear in mind the giveaway component to that post is long since closed!)

I also like to collect cards with Asian themes, many Casinos put them out in advance of Lunar New Year and I always make it a point to get one, so when I found out that Best Buy was putting out a Lunar New Year E-Gift card I was pretty excited! (And when I'm pretty excited about something, I tend to want to want to share the news with my butterflies!)

I love that Best Buy supports events they believe are of importance to their employees, customers and communities, and the upcoming Lunar New Year is one of those important celebrations.

A former Vietnamese co-worker would share about her traditions and she would always bring in 'bánh phục linh' - a popular cookie during the Vietnamese New Year. And I learned of the Chinese Red Envelopes, (known as Hong Bao) from a favorite shop and absolutely fell in love with the idea and the tradition. The red color of the envelope symbolizes good luck and is said to ward off evil spirits, the amount of money in these envelopes will end in an even digit, according to Chinese belief odd-numbered money gifts are traditionally associated with funerals. There is also a tradition that money should not be given in fours nor should the number four appear in the amount as the pronunciation of the word 'four' resembles that of the word for 'death' which would be thought to bring bad luck. One year when I worked in the Banking Industry one of the Banking Analysts who had come back from a trip to China brought the team back these envelopes and I still have mine!

I find it interesting that in Japan the envelope is actually customarily white and NOT red.

My Take:

As my zodiac sign is 'Aries' in Western Astrology, red is the color associated with my sign so I tend to gravitate to all things red automatically anyway.

A very dear penpal started me on the tradition of sending New Year's Cards and wishes, as she is Jewish and doesn't celebrate Christmas she asked many years ago if we could exchange New Year's wishes instead of Christmas Cards, and I loved the idea and expanded it to additional friends and family and many clients who have always appreciated the gesture. This year the upcoming Lunar New Year occurs during January 31st 2014 of our Gregorian Calendar and I can't think of any better way to honor friends who observe the 'lucky money' custom than with this E-Gift Card! I may even make this image my screensaver during the month of January for a bit of extra luck!

Trust when I tell you I am NOT making a political statement of any kind here, but I have never shopped 'Black Friday'. I hate crowds. I refuse to get trampled for a discount, no matter how great it may be. And I'm not going out shopping on Thanksgiving Day. That day is about being Thankful for my blessings and enjoying them with those I love. I also like sleeping in WAY too much to get up before the sun does on Friday Morning to stand in long lines in the freezing cold. NOT Happening.

As you know many don't do flash. For me a tablet needs to have the functionality of a laptop, and work just like my office desktop, and I do mean seamlessly. Reducing Your Energy Costs during Energy Awareness Month in October with @BestBuy and ENERGY STAR®

As an apartment dweller I am always on the lookout for simple ways to keep my lifestyle green, and try to save money in the process. Sadly, most apartments in the City limit what changes you can make, and they also don't allow you to swap appliances until they break down, and even then they provide the replacement, and in all my years here none of the major supplied Kitchen appliances are ENERGY STAR® certified, which drives me nuts!

My electric charges are absolutely outrageous, and in all the ways I can possibly control them I do, I try make sure all the electronics that fall under my domain of control are ENERGY STAR® certified, I try to unplug devices I don't use and keeps lights off in rooms I am not in.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) instituted Energy Awareness Month in 1992, as voluntary program to help businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through energy efficiency.

October is Energy Awareness Month making this a great time to upgrade to a new energy-efficient appliance to save money on home energy bills. If you are looking for a new TV, Computer, Washer/Dryer make sure to check that it is ENERGY STAR® certified, you will be doing something good for the environment, and good for you as well! Let's face it with the average home's annual energy bill coming in somewhere about $2,200 (and I'm sure mine is WAY higher than that!) you may want to join me in checking out how much money you can save with a new appliance by checking out Best Buy's ENERGY STAR® certified products  and find out more about how to 'Go Green. Butterflies, don't leave MONEY on the table! Best Buy has a My Best Buy Rebate Finder under the 'Reward Zone' area of their site, that will automatically show you all the rebates that are available on your new appliance, you just plug in your product info and zip code, it's THAT EASY! There are thousands of utility-company rebates and federal and state tax credits that go un-redeemed, that's literally just leaving free money behind, don't forget to check for rebates for any new appliance you purchase! I'm proud to say I have been doing this for years, and the last air conditioner that I purchased from Best Buy had a great rebate, I always make sure to do this and try to research Rebate Options before I buy so I can go with the item with the best reviews that also has a rebate, double SCORE!

My Take:

With Best Buy offering over 2,300 different ENERGY STAR® certified products (both in-store and online), you can go green, save money, check for a rebate and reduce your annual energy costs all at the same time, what's NOT to love?
