Wordless Wednesday - Bridesmaid DVD Event Launch!

Last night I attended the Bridesmaid DVD Launch Event, hosted by NBC Universal and YellowTail Wines and I had a great time! I almost thought I wasn't going to make it, as The President was about to give a speech and the streets were all blocked off! But us industrious and persistent New Yorkers always find a way!

Here are some pictures from the event!

Pictured Above: Check out the cute high heel shoe floral centerpieces at the tables, candle light and a glass of Yellow Tail Wines Sparkling White!

Pictured Above: Guests were asked to bring in Bridesmaid Dresses they no longer cared for and the dresses were donated to help benefit The Glass Slipper Project. In the photo above Kiymet Lale who manages Custom Coutere Alterations for Hallak Cleaners is altering a dress. How she managed to do such precise work amidst so  many people was amazing to watch!

Pictured Above: Dresses that were used in the Bridesmaid Movie were on display for photo opps!

Pictured above: Left, is Carolina Bermudez, evening event emcee and Radio Personality, Right is yours truly, Ascending Butterfly!

During the event mini spa treatments were offered, never seen movie footage was shown, and there were 'bouquet tossings' where guests had a chance to win prizes (unfortunately I never caught a bouquet, much like during real life weddings!)

Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue Review & $10 Discount For YOU!

Disney's Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue is coming to Blu-Ray and DVD TODAY! I was tempted to say 'flying in' but I promise I'll restrain myself. Well, Maybe!

I have to start out by admitting I'm a bit biased. Tink has WINGS!!! You know how I feel about all things with wings....butterflies, dragonflies, angels, fairies.....I love 'winged' things.

And really is there anything more magically wonderful than Pixie dust? I wouldn't mind a little sprinkle of Pixie Dust right now!

My Tinkerbell and Peter Pan history goes back a long way! My mom who loves the theater, took me to see many plays when I was a young girl. Two stood out strongly for me, The King & I (with the amazing Yul Brynner as the King of Siam) and Peter Pan at  the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre starring Sandy Duncan as Tinker Bell. Back then those plays stood out for me because there were young children my age in the play! And it was love, love, love, ever since! One of the benefits of growing up in New York City is the Theater, and I never took that gift for granted!

In this movie Tinker Bell introduces a new circle of enchanting fairy friends – Fawn, Iridessa, Rosetta and Silvermist – each with an incredibly diverse talent, personality and look!

Do you remember the moment you met your best friend as a child? The moment you first believed in Magic? Disney movies always that bring that childhood magic back for me!

Teaser Alert: Check out the first time Tinker Bell meets a human for the first time – an 8-year old girl named Lizzy. Lizzy discovers that her dream to meet a fairy is finally coming true. She also learns that Tinker Bell speaks in jingles and that fairies can’t fly in the rain. This marks the beginning of a very unique friendship.

Notice the butterflies in the begining? Isn't that neat? I'd like to think that was put in there just for ME. This was 'screened' during my weekend Auntie 'sitting' duties. Why do they call it sitting? (Kids rarely let you sit do they?) Thankfully the movie gave us both time to sit! My niece really enjoyed it! and so did I! And nothing better than a movie screening in your living room in your PJ's. And since Disney offers the Blu-Ray and DVD combo pack, I just popped that Blu-Ray into the Player, and the surround sound, big screen, and Disney Movie Magic took care of itself! What's also great about this movie set up, is that Auntie keeps the Blu-Ray, and the chosen niece or nephew that weekend gets to keep the DVD. A little something for everyone!

Isn't this picture from the premiere fun? You did notice that there was a BUTTERFLY right above Tinkerbell right?

I wasn't able to nab a giveaway this time around, but I do have some good stuff to share:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ STILL NOT ENOUGH? - OK, You are seriously killing me here! I know what you are thinking, you are thinking 'But Butterfly, how ever will I keep the kiddos entertained AFTER the movie'? How about some 'TINK-ER-IFIC' fun activities? Disney sent me some to share with you HERE

Make your special little someone's happy!

Ascending Butterfly in conjunction with the One2One Network is proud to introduce (or re-introduce, we should say!) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Edition!

Now as many of you already know, game night is usually Friday nights here, and it consists of friends and family, our favorite video games (which I won't mention which platform/system here just in case the competition wants us to review theirs, LOL!), loads of snacks, and yes soft drinks too!

This week I received Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Edition Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack! This is brilliant, you get both a Blu-Ray and a traditional DVD of the movie for about the same price of just a plain DVD. This allows the Blu-Ray to stay in the home theater room/living room and the traditional DVD can be used in any other room, and let's not forget the car, perfect companion for long car trips!

My nieces were so excited we moved up 'game' night and changed it to movie night! I will admit the grown ups were equally excited to re-visit a classic favorite from our youth. (Ladies aren't we all still secretly waiting for that prince? LOL) We screened the Blu-Ray which boasts first time ever High Definition 7.1 sound, it truly felt like we were out at a movie theater! The kiddies loved it!

What is the Limited Diamond Edition?

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition includes a Blu-ray disc and a DVD in one package! You can enjoy the incredible high definition experience of Blu-ray at home, and use the DVD in the kids' room, in the car, or on your computer. Disney Blu-ray Combo Packs are the perfect way to start your Blu-ray collection!

Not only will you get the classic tale of Snow White in this 2-disc special, it comes with plenty of extras:

  • First time ever in High Definition 7.1 sound
  • All new music video!
  • Disneyview - Expanded viewing experience
  • Disney Family Plan – games for everyone to enjoy
  • Backstage Disney – go behind the scenes of this legendary tale
  • Classic Bonus features include Dopey’s Wild Mine Ride Game, Karoke Sing A Long, and so much more
This is a must-have addition to any contemporary family's movie library and it's only available for a limited time!

What is Disney Blu-Ray?

The revolutionary new Diamond Edition provides the highest-level viewing experience, immersive interactivity, unprecedented value, quality, and versatility with the exceptional picture and sound of Blu-ray and the extended utility of DVD. Upgrading to Blu-ray offers you technology on more scratch resistant and kid-proof discs and Blu-ray players play both Blu-ray discs and your favorite DVDs.

And, if you already own Snow White on VHS or DVD, click here to grab a $10 off coupon for the new Diamond Edition Combo Pack! Offer is only good until October 20, but starting this fall Disney will introduce their Blu-ray Upgrade program so you will be able to upgrade other Disney titles in your library too!
