Today's Words of Inspiration - How far will you go in life?

@inspiring-posters

Today's Quote:

'How far you go in life depends on your being Tender with the Young, compassionate with the Aged, sympathetic with the Striving, and Tolerant of the Weak and Strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.' ~George Washington Carver

Being open minded and tolerant doesn't cost much, but truly yields great rewards! Not just to those we show that compassion to, but to ourselves as well.

Today's Challenge: Open your heart and expand your mind to see something from a different point of view than your own.

Today's Breathing Affirmation: Close your eyes, take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, and affirm "I have unconditional and limitless compassion."

Before logging out for your weekend fun, if you haven't already done so, don't forget to enter our active giveaway for an Elliott Lucca Drawsting Crossbody Handbag in YOUR choice of color HERE. Also please enter our latest giveaway with Borghese HERE.

Remember that attitude determines altitude, and go out there and make this your best day ever, bless and be blessed!

Where you can open your mind today? Where can you show more compassion?

Today's Words of Inspiration - Unconditional Worth!

Today's Quote:

'I deserve love, peace, prosperity and serenity.' 'I have complete and unconditional worth as a person in this universe.' 'I was born with a limitless capacity for wealth and growth.' ~Jonathan Cainer

These are 'affirmations'. They are very popular in self-help groups the world over. I'm not suggesting you need them now - but if, at any point this week, you find yourself doubting your entitlement to a positive experience... try saying these statements over and over to yourself. For the universe does love you and it is keen now to let you know that. Are you now in a position that you don't think you ought to be in? What stops you from putting yourself in a preferable position instead? You're entitled now, to stand firm and to hold your ground, no matter who is urging you to leap without looking.'

Today's Challenge: Beleive that the Universe wants the best for you.

Today's Breathing Affirmation: Close your eyes, take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, and affirm "I have complete and unconditional worth as a person in this Universe."

If you haven't already done so, don't forget to enter our active giveaway for an Elliott Lucca Drawsting Crossbody Handbag in YOUR choice of color HERE. Also please enter our latest giveaway with Borghese HERE.

Remember that attitude determines altitude, and go out there and make this your best day ever, bless and be blessed!

Just like we get thirsty in the heat, so does our skin! The heat and humidity of summer time is no excuse to let you skincare slide.

While I know the last thing anyone wants to do in the heat is wear makeup, your skin still requires hydration, both from within and without! If you normally drink 8 glasses of water per day, up it in the summer to keep your body and skin hydrated!

The secret is to use products that do not clog your pores, clogged pores will trap oil and dirt, and make you feel even 'stickier' in the heat which is the last thing you want.

My Take

I have been using Borghese Skin Care Products for quite awhile now. And even introduced friends and family to the line. It all started with a facial I received at their skin care counter in a local department store, I bought pretty much one of everything, so I knew before going into this review that I would more than likely love the products, but I had never tried their haircare before so that was the most pleasant surprise!

My hair has been an extra pain this summer, entirely unruly and super frizzy and while I am still going to require chopping quite a bit off sometime VERY soon, the Shampoo Purificante and Ristorativo Di Vita Conditioner has helped me postpone that much needed haircut!

I love both the Acqua Ristorativo Serum as well as the Crema Ristorativo-24 Continuous Hydration Moisturizer, and I've been using both daily. The one, two punch to my skin has been very noticeable, my skin is much brighter, evenly hydrated and I find my makeup goes on much smoother. I have pretty much made the full switch to powder foundation, but one thing I that has always bothered me about the powder foundation, is that it can exaggerate any dry patches on your face, I've been able to skip primer using this serum and I use the continuous hydration mouisturizer mostly at night. I have seen a reduction in fine lines, a much more overall brightness and luminosity to my skin to the point where if I skip any makeup I don't feel guilty that day. (Although I will never give up my signature lips - which is a secret custom color combo I will NEVER share!)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - WIN IT! - Ascending Butterfly and our friends at Borghese have a very special surprise for 2 lucky winners! 1 winner will get the Crema Ristorativo-24 Continuous Hydration Moisturizer and the other will get the Acqua Ristorativo Hydrating Concentrate!

Healthify Your Summer with Fage! Recipe 2: FAGE Total Greek Yogurt Lemon Coleslaw

My apologies for skipping last week, the Healthify Your Summer with Fage Total Greek Yogurt Series continues with the second recipe in the summer series! This time with another summer favorite, Coleslaw! Just like it took me a long time to embrace Yogurt just in general, I didn't always eat ColeSlaw and when I was little was known to pick it out when I went to KFC!  It was last year at BlogHer 2010 that I tried a Yogurt that I really liked, and have begn experimenting with other brands since. The event I attended where we learned to use Yogurt in our favorite recipes to make them healthier, still surprises me. For someone that never really ate Yogurt, I was surprised that cooking with it, yielded that much flavor, and in many recipes I couldn't really tell it was there at all. This ColeSlaw was a very pleasant surprise!

FAGE (pronounced “fah-yeh”) is known for Total, the authentic Greek strained yogurt. This summer, Ascending Butterfly and FAGE Total takes you on a mouthwatering journey from plainly plain to plain extraordinary!

Home Entertainment Tips from Top NYC Bloggers and Delta Faucet!

I recently had the opportunity to attend a very intimate event held at the Setai Hotel in New York City, in their beautiful Penthouse Suite. The event was hosted by Delta Faucet and Victoria Pericon of Savvy Mommy who brought together a small group of New York City Bloggers to discuss Entertaining in the home and sharing tips and tricks to making at home entertaining and parties not only fun for the guests, but simpler for the hosts! The bloggers included a mix of Lifestyle, Food, Parenting and more, which made the focus group session on Entertaining all the more interesting and exciting. We came at the topic from a variety of perspectives, from food to photography, from entertaining with kids, singles and more!

NYC Bloggers (Tracy @ Ascending Butterfly is the second to the right in the black shirt) including co-hostess Victoria Pericon of Savvy Mommy (middle closest to sign), Delta Faucet team and MSL Group team reps!

Whether it's for a simple gathering, dinner party, birthday party or hosting for the holidays, I'm sure much like me, you run around the house like a chicken without a head trying to get everything together. Picking up, cleaning and cooking to make your home it's most welcoming for your guests. It's definitely not easy getting everything 'Just So'.

Thankfully you don't have to go it alone!

Five Tips to Hosting A Successful Gathering in your home, AND keeping it simple for you in the process:

(1) Think About Your Guests - Do any guests have food or pet allergies? Be sure to query your guests well before the event. You don't want to have someone suffer a severe allergic reaction, when this is something very easy to prevent!

(2) Pick a Theme - Theme centered parties are a fun way to keep things interesting for your guests, try to pick an inclusive theme that the most guests can relate to. Fun ideas include: A luau, A decade based party (70s, 80s, 90s etc), or even movie night. You can even have door prizes for the 3 guests who best represent the party theme!

(3) Keep it Simple - Save time and Paper (Use evites or email for invitations) use Apps like Red Rover. Or if like me, you simply cannot bare going paperless for your invites, use online services that allow you to pick, print and have them ship the invitations for you!

(4) Designate a Photographer - Delegate this to one person or have a bunch of polaroid cameras set up at various stations throughout your party and have guests take pictures! This way you don't spend your entire party behind a lens/viewfinder and miss making memories with your guests! Making your guests feel special by giving them one to one time is what will make the party memorable for them AND you!

(5) Send Thank You Notes - It's so important to take that time to thank your guests for sharing in that special day with you! A great way to personalize the note is to take a picture of yourself with the gift they brought. You can slip that picture inside the note, or if you are using a photo or card service, upload that picture, write your thank you caption and you can have them directly shipped to your guests (if you have alot of guests, use a printing service that allows you to turn the picture into a postcard since the postage is a bit cheaper and the photo postcard with Thank You caption can be sent to all your guests!)

Collage of Event Photos include Faucet in action, bloggers networking and the great spread!

We also had the opportunity to see Delta Faucet demo their bath and kitchen faucets with the new Touch2O® and Touch2O.xt™ Technology!

Touch2O® Technology: Tapping anywhere on the spout or handle with your wrist or forearm to start and stop the flow of water. It helps keep the bath faucet clean, even when your hands aren't.

Touch2O.xt™ Technology: For an even cleaner experience, Touch2O.xt™ Technology allows you to tap the faucet on and off or go completely hands-free. The bath touch faucet intuitively activates the water flow when your hands move close to the faucet.

We all got the chance to check out the faucets in action both a kitchen demo model and a bathroom demo model. And I thought they were both fantastic. I LOVE to cook, but I also know just how easily germs can be spread in a Kitchen. We all know just how easy raw chicken rubbed across surfaces can cause salmonella. But to clean those surfaces you have turn on your faucet, touching the faucet with your 'raw chicken hands'. Thanks to these faucets you won't have to worry about that anymore! Delta also let us in on a very scary statistic, that 1 in 5 people do not wash their hands after using the restroom. That definitely gave us all the immediate 'EWWW YUCK!' reaction.

Whether you are a foodie and want a cleaner kitchen, a mom trying to find new ways to encourage the little ones to keep their hands clean, or are a hostess with the mostest yourself, these faucets will certainly help not only make your bathroom or kitchen look nice, but will also help you save time, money and water. Think of the possibilities: While brushing your teeth, or while your DH is shaving you no longer waste water, the water turns off while you brush your teeth or shave and then turns on when you are ready for it, How smart (and cool) is that?

I will be getting the chance to try out one of these myself soon, and I will post a more in depth review at that time (and who knows butterflies, maybe I can coerce the fine folks at Delta to come back and show our readers some love too!)

In the meantime, Please Share YOUR best tip for making entertaining easy and fun!
