What I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Blog-a-versary -  Ascending Butterfly was founded in 2009, and here I stand 3 years later, celebrating a Blog-A-Versary! Blogging has been more rewarding than I could have ever anticipated in so many ways. It's the hardest job you'll ever love! So this week I'm not only grateful for my blogging anniversary, but every single reader and follower, every single sponsor, every single brand ambassadorship, and all that I have learned along the way!

These three years have literally flown by, and I am super excited to think of what the next 3 years will bring.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Mental Health - I took a few days away from writing this week, and I am so happy I did. I did some wonderful stuff these past few days that I will be sharing with you, so I was literally still working, but taking a few days not glued to a screen certainly gave me some time to unwind!

What I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ My Love of Twitter Parties -  Before I started hosting them, I was attending them. Lot's of them. I became known as the official Twitter Party DJ because I would be the one to make fun song suggestions based on the theme of the party I was attending. Some might even call me the life of the twitter party! (Well OK, bragging just a bit!). But when I'm not hosting I still love attending them, I love the fast pace, catching up with my online friends and being introduced to brands in a fun and interactive way. I recently attended one and it paid off big time! My Television just got pimped thanks to Verizon's Somos Fios! I won the Grand Prize in their recent twitter party, a 32 inch Samsung HDTV Television! Happy Mother's Day Butterfly!

What I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ My Mom -  She is the most amazing woman I know! And she has spent this year helping me through a very dark time and two very difficult hospital stays this year. I am filled with gratitude that God blessed with a mom AND a best friend.

I have been blessed with many strong women in my life, some who are now passed including my Grandmother, my Great-Grandmother, and my Godmother who is also my Great Aunt.

And a special thanks to my Aunt Butterfly who has also been with me during my difficult hospital stays this year along with my mom!

I had a great weekend with my Mama Butterfly this weekend, and I hope you did something special for your mom too!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - SAYING NO - I'm sure that sounds odd, but one of the things my health scare this year has taught me is to truly value my time and efforts, and if someone or something isn't a good investment of my time, energies and strength, I now will immediately and unequivocally say no. I'm grateful for this lesson learned. It's certainly helped to reduce my stress!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Thank YOU: Just wanted to thank everyone who voted for me in the Swag Mom contest, while I did not win, in addition to votes, there were so many messages and comments that were super encouraging, and others who shared their own stories or a prayer and those messages meant as much to me as the votes of support do! Weekly Moment of Gratitude - It's Motivation Monday!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Family -  I had a great Sunday afternoon yesterday celebrating my cousin and uncle's birthday, I got to see extended family I hadn't seen in a long while and it was a great reminder of all the things that are really important in life.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Church - Late afternoon Sunday service yesterday after the family party at a church I hadn't been to in many years. The last time I was in that church was for a funeral. It was a bit bittersweet being back there. But it filled my spirit to spend time in prayer as I have quite a bit to be thankful for!

Weekly Moment of Gratitude, Twitter Party Tomorrow + Winners!

What I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Sometime the best lessons are learned the hard way -  {Motivation Monday Thought}: Sometimes you KNOW something, but you just don't apply it until life hits you HARD, and one of the lessons I've had to re-learn the hard way this year is that there are literally but so many hours in a day, and if I don't stop and take some time for myself to let my body heal and rest, it won't. So for the first time ever, I'm not answering emails within 24 hours and I'm not yet totally caught up since my return from my last hospital stay most of March and early April. The True Lesson: IT'S OKAY. And I know some people will understand and be patient, and others won't. The True Lesson? You can't be ALL things to ALL people ALL of the time. And yes, that's OKAY!

Weekly Moment of #Gratitude + #Giveaway Updates!

What I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Closer to an answer!  - As many of you already know I have been dealing with a long medical nightmare that has sent me back to the hospital, where I sit now as I write this weekly gratitude post. While to most it would seem very strange to be writing a gratitude post from a hospital bed,  I'm actually a  bit closer to having answers, and for that I am feeling quite grateful. It hasn't been an easy week this week for me or my family by any stretch of the imagination, but I've kept a positive attitude despite all my struggles, and it has served me well. I've met some fascinating and wonderful people here, who knows maybe I'll share some additional stories about my time here on Ascending Butterfly in upcoming posts.

Weekly Moment of Gratitude! + Active Giveaways! + Events + WINS!

This week, I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  Happy News! (Which I've been long overdue for in my life lately!) - I found out that I was selected as part of Duane Reade's NY VIP Blogger Program! And I found out via my favorite part of the 'SocialMediaVerse', Twitter of course, check out the tweet that put a smile on my face HERE. While many people participated, only 10 New York City based Bloggers were chosen and I am one of them. For all those butterflies who tweeted a vote on my behalf THANK YOU! I am super excited and promise to work hard. And I hope to be able to share great deals with you too! I'm a #DReadeVIP, last year I enjoyed my time as a Blogger Brand Ambassador for Kmart's Latina Smart program and I'm looking forward to working with Duane Reade in 2012.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - A Win! I don't often get too much time to enter giveaways (as I'm mostly hosting them), but I entered a giveaway in conjunction with the New York Toy Fair this year and won! I won a Wonderworld Toys Smart Gear Balance Bike! The news definitely brought a smile to my face.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Another Win! I won a conference pass to Hispanicize! I now have to find sponsorship so I can get out there! The conference is 6 days after my birthday, sounds like a nice birthday present!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Events: I attended an amazing event where I had the opportunity to see the inner workings of a brand with heart, if you didn't have a chance to read the recap of The Royal Asscher event, check it out HERE. I have some fun ones coming up this week, including a screening of Disney's John Carter!

While there is still a bit of confusion in my life as of late, this week was a fresh breeze of relief that makes me feel things are really turning around, and good things are finally headed my way this year! With a few weeks before my birthday, I remember the saying that says your real new year is not December 31st or January 1st, but the actual day of your birthday. I'd like to beleive that is true, as my January New Year wasn't the best ever this year, but these weeks leading up to my actual birthday just feel so filled with hope! I have a strong feeling, that this year, on this particular birthday, the doors will finally open and a floodgate of opportunities are being sent my way!

Weekly Moment of Gratitude + Winners + Fashion Week + Sales Alert!

There hasn't been a weekly gratitude post here for awhile. Not because I stopped living in gratitude, but because life certainly made things harder than I anticipated they ever could be. My hospital stay, the lousy treatment there, knocked me for a loop, emotionally and spiritually. Words of inspiration were very hard to come by in a hospital bed.

While I still don't have answers yet and I still have a long road ahead, I have been trying hard to get back into the swing of things on every level of my life and it hasn't been easy!

This week, I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  Fashion Week! I honestly didn't think at first I would be able to handle it, and while I definitely had to pace myself and made sure not to over pack my schedule, I was super proud to be able to say I made it through. I have more recaps to come! Make sure you check out the recap to the F.A.B party which was my favorite Fashion Week party, it had a Philanthropic component that provided monies to a childrens charity called the Toshi Now Foundation. While Fashion Week is always exciting, to me, knowing that something good came out of this particular event made it that much more interesting to me.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Patience! As you know my hospital stay put our annual holidays buying guide a bit behind and I am filled with gratitude with how every single brand has stood behind me and shown me so much patience and support.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - For all those who contributed to the medical fund that was created for me, THANK YOU. And for those that emailed me, and sent me messages of support, THANK YOU. I'll be happier when I can finally put it ALL behind me, but knowing so many people are so concerned for me truly means a lot to me.
