Regular readers know that this butterfly originally aspired to become a Doctor and while life had other plans for me, I am still fascinated with Science and Medicine and even held the title of Science Editor for a Newspaper early on in my writing career.

Two summers ago I got a bug bite that immediately made my arm swell. I of course panicked, because it happened after hours (and I can never leave a voicemail with my primary so I have to call during office hours to get a human on the phone) - I can tell you I wish I had access to this service that day! Thankfully my local pharmacist pinch hit for me that day and I avoided an emergency room visit. The thought of not having to lug my sick child into a doctor's office makes me so happy. Since back to school season is here, I have no doubt that I will be taking advantage of this awesome discount sometime soon.

ReplyDeleteWe are HUGE fans of Amwell. I’ve used their service on two occasions and was pleased with the results both times. I hope this becomes more of the mainstream way to see physicians as I would love to have more services covered under our insurance! LOVE AMWELL!

ReplyDeleteI've used a similar service before for a sinus infection that got bad on the weekend. I was able to get a prescription called in without having to leave the house.

ReplyDeleteI didn't realize insurance co's weren't covering the emergency room so much anymore. That's disheartening. I do like Amwell. It's very convenient if one of my kids' have the flu, and I know it's the flu, but I have to have a doctor's excuse for the school.
