Obviously I was watching True Blood on HBO last night, (it's one of my *non-guilty* pleasures!) and in observing Sookie and Bill (played by Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer), there was a great scene between them where they discuss loving each other for both the good and bad within, and how within each of us there is both good and bad. How often do we really love one another for both the good and bad within? When someone behaves in a way that is contrary to your own, do you stop loving them? Do you love them less? Let's use today's words of inspiration to focus in on how we love.

Use Today's Words of Inspiration as a breathing meditation to still your mind, quiet your thoughts and bring in positive energy. Two new stars in the sky

Ascending Butterfly wanted to take a moment to send out heartfelt prayers to the families of both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. We pray that they are blessed with the strength they need at this difficult time. There are now 2 more stars in the sky!

6/25/2009 - Farrah Fawcett, the multiple Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated American actress best known for her role as the vivacious Jill Munroe in the 1970s television series “Charlie’s Angels,” died in a Santa Monica hospital. She was 62.

6/25/2009 - One of the world's most recognizable entertainers, Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50. Michael's album Thriller ranked number 20 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list in 2003, and was listed by the National Association of Recording Merchandisers at number three in their Definitive 200 Albums of All Time.

Yesterday I had a very frustrating experience trying to integrate new technology into my home entertainment setup. It was so frustrating that I instantly stormed off in frustration and wanted to give up. But I knew I couldn't do that. I knew that this single gal in the city did not have a 'man of the house' or a tech on call (or the budget for a tech on call!) I knew like every electronic conundrum before this, I'd have to figure it out for myself. And I did. It reminded me that I am very capable of rising to my own challenges and very competent! And so are you! Do not let your challenges frustrate you today, give yourself the patience you readily give to others and rise up to each challenge that comes your way today instead of running from them or finding ways to escape them. You'll feel that much better for it. Trust me, I did.

Today, take one small but powerful step toward the life you wish to have. Create the life you wish to have with not only positive thought, but with highly focused affirmative action!

Sometimes we hold on to things that we don't need. From old magazines, empty boxes, clothes we don't wear all the way to old habits that no longer serve our highest good. Clear out the clutter, the cobwebs in your mind, and the habits that are holding you back. Today decide which habit you are going to give up. Today decide to clear off one table in your home completely. Tomorrow clear off another space and give up another habit, think of how quickly you can be where you WANT to be!

Today's Butterfly is the 'featured site of the day'. It is a site I recommend because I feel strongly Ascending Butterfly Readers will enjoy it. And hopefully benefit too!

I have to credit Today's Butterfly to the amazing Kim Komando who sent out an email teaching us ways to 'shamelessly' self promote! She recommended a site called Hyplet, http://www.hyplet.com/

Hyplet allows you to create custom banners to promote your blog, website, ebay store, you name it, you can create your own Hyplet to promote it! You can add your Hyplet to your signature file, in your email, post it in forums, and there is a toolbar you can use to add it on to your IE browser that will allow Hyplet to automatically insert your Hyplet anywhere you wish. How cool is that?!

I thought I'd share my first 'Hyplet' with you dear readers. Let me know what you think. You can leave a comment in this thread with all ideas and suggestions! Also, if you decide to create your own 'Hyplet' I'd really love to see it, please post your Hyplets in this thread!

Monday, June 22, 2009 - Today's Words of Inspiration

Use Today's Words of Inspiration as a breathing meditation to still your mind, quiet your thoughts and bring in positive energy. As you inhale bring in only positive energy by saying in your mind, I breathe in positive energy (or you can say creative energy if that is what you wish to create more of) and as you exhale, Affirm out loud today 'I will not let outside influences rob me of my joy'. Don't let the fires that need to be put out today, rob you of your joy.

Do this at least twice today and see how by taking a moment away from the hectic pace and breathing in positive energy and affirming what you wish to create, your thinking will become different!

Sunday, June 21, 2009: Moment of Gratitude:

Three things I am grateful for today:

- Because my Dad passed when I was very young, I honor my mom on Father's Day who became both a mom and Dad when Dad died. I cooked dinner for her, Salmon with Penne and a Lemon/Caper/Butter Sauce, YUM!

- Happy Birthday Lisa! :)

- Even though it was raining today, I just feel grateful for the slower pace that Sunday provides.
