Find out what The Official #TwitterPartyDJ is recommending this Christmas for the #Music Lover in your life! Seriously, @Bassbuds are like a concert in your ears!

Last year I had the chance to review a pair of earphones that were the closest to 'accessory nirvana' as I even imagined possible, I reviewed the Monster® Butterfly™ by Vivienne Tam with ControlTalk™ High Performance In-Ear Headphones and while I loved them, they died on me in one ear during a very long commute. Not Cool. I will tell you that Monster did make it right and replace them, but I was a bit surprised to have those die before their 1 year anniversary of commuting with me during my daily commute. I've had some cheapos last me way longer.

Because of my status as 'The Official #TwitterPartyDJ' I get a wide variety of pitches, directly from musicians (alas I wish I had the influence with the studios to help them more), labels, or music accessories. I'm often a bit leery when it comes to music accessories reviews, I am very picky/selective, I have a great ear, and I will be honest when it comes to my assessments, not all tech or tech gear are alike.

I'm also not ashamed to say the fashionista in me still wants a little form with all that function, but when it comes to music, at the end of the day, sound is and always will be King. Most of my DJ pals will only work with Over-the-Ear Headphones, and while I get that, my strong preference is in-ear earphones. No matter how well padded, I have yet to meet the headphone that doesn't press down on my ears and make them red. With earphones I'm able to adjust the size better and wear them longer.

I've been enjoying happy listening with a new pair of earphones that literally feel like it's a concert in my ear, and I mean that in a GOOD way. A very good way!

Just got some #bassbuds in the post to review ;) #freebies

My Take:

When they say 'Noise Immersion' they really mean it! When I evaluate new earphones I take time to listen to music across as many genres/styles of music as possible, from Classical, to Jazz, to Rap, to Metal, Latin Music and more, and these literally bring out the sound in ways other earphones hadn't for me. I will warn you to put DOWN the volume on your device before putting these in your ears. And for me that is one of the perks to quality earphones, I can listen to my music on much lower settings, meaning I don't have to charge my portable devices as often when using these! I love the packaging, super sleek and sexy, and when you open it not only are the additional size tips for the earphones included on top, there are also extras right below them inside a carrying pouch you can use to store them while on the go. All packaged with a Certificate of Authenticity. And with their genuine SWAROVSKI Elements, they put the fashion and form into what is already an amazingly functional pair of earphones with amazing sound! They are hands down a perfect holiday gift for any audiophile/music lover in your life. Although I am sure you are going to be pretty hard pressed when it comes time to wrap them because you are NOT going to want to give these away! I will tell you they have a super light weight feel to them, but don't let the good looks fool you, there is serious sound under that 'pretty face'.

Monday Motivation: Spreading Holiday Cheer Edition! @redcross Holiday Mail for Heroes Program!

Christmas Cards

I shared last night on Facebook about the Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program, and wanted to provide additional details for those who asked for more information about the program. The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are joining together as part of the sixth annual Heroes Card Program. The Holiday Mail for Heroes Mailbox will be open until December 7th.

CARD SIGNING IDEAS:

Many members of the Armed Forces will be far away from home and loved ones during the holidays. Why not let them know their sacrifice is appreciated and gather folks together to sign cards and be part of the Holiday Mail program? Scouts could sign at their weekly meeting. Civic organizations could organize events in their communities. Businesses could provide cards for employees to sign. Sporting leagues could ask members to sign before the next game.

HOW IT WORKS:

Pitney Bowes will screen the cards for hazardous materials, sort and package them, contributing thousands of volunteer hours at sites around the country. Red Cross volunteers across the United States and on military installations overseas then sort and deliver the cards throughout the holiday season. The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes have received and distributed more than 4.7 million cards for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and their families since the program began in 2006.

Mail Cards to:

Holiday Mail for Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

RULES/Guidelines:
To ensure that cards are delivered in time for the holidays, they must be postmarked no later than December 7. Individuals are asked to refrain from sending “care packages,” monetary donations, or using glitter or any other kinds of inserts with the cards. More information and card requirements are available at redcross.org/holidaymail.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Ensure that all cards are signed.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Use generic salutations such as 'Dear Service Member' - Cards addressed to specific individuals will NOT be delivered.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Only cards are being accepted, do not send letters.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Do not include inserts, no photos or items.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Do not include your email or your home address on the actual card, the program is not meant to foster pen pal relationships.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  Do not send cards with Glitter. Many of the cards are being delivered to military and veterans medical facilities and the glitter could interfere with a patient's recovery.
Get Social With it:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  -  You can connect with fellow card senders through Facebook at facebook.com/redcross and on Twitter @redcross using the hashtag #holidaymail.
The Red Cross relies on the support of the American people to carry out its mission of service to the 2 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces, 24 million veterans and their families. During this holiday season, people also can support all Red Cross services by making a financial donation at redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS. Individuals can also give the gift of life by making an appointment to give blood at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS.

Weekly Moment of Gratitude! (+ Stay tuned for the next #TwitterParty from the #TwitterPartyDJ!)

What I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Heeding my own advice! -  As a life coach I spend a lot of time convincing people that they need to come out of their comfort zones to make change in their lives. Well I finally heeded my own advice. I got out of my comfort zone behind the camera, and spent some time in front of it. I definitely developed a new respect for television personalities, they make it look so easy! Thanks for the encouraging comments you all sent me regarding my very first VLOG!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Super Awesome Interview! - I got the chance to interview Gerard Butler while he was in Miami promoting his new movie Playing for Keeps! It was a conference call and myself and one other awesome blogger (Rosy from Accidental Sexiness!) got to ask Gerard Butler questions about his new movie. I asked 3 questions, and 2 were from Ascending Butterfly readers! I posted asking everyone if they could ask Gerard Butler one question about his upcoming new movie what would it be. I used one question that was asked on the post, and the other from a twitter follower! Stay tuned this week for a review of the movie and the questions and answers session from that interview.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Twitter Party Alert! - You know how much I love hosting Twitter Parties right? It's how I became 'The Official #TwitterPartyDJ'! Check our homepage VERY soon to RSVP for our next twitter party, I can assure you that you are not going to want to miss this one! It's the perfect holiday gift for anyone on your list, and you'll have a chance to nab one and talk holidays with Ascending Butterfly and a very special sponsor!

Winner Announcement for the @NicoleMillerNYC Addison Handbag Giveaway on @Ascending1 + this month's holiday #handbag #giveaway

Winner Announcement!:

After the feature being on hiatus so long, it was no surprise that October's Featured Monthly Handbag in the spotlight garnered a ton of entries! It took me awhile to close this one because before I even draw a winner, I eliminate all entries that did not comply with giveaway instructions. All 'blank' entries etc. This way when I go to draw a winner, only qualified entries are in the running. I know oftentimes people are under the assumption that when bloggers use rafflecopter we just draw and if that winner did not comply with instructions we just re-draw, I can't speak for everyone, but I refuse to do that. I eliminate all dis-qualified entries first THEN draw the winner. So my actual entry numbers for any given drawing may go 'down' after it closes which most people wouldn't want, but I like the drawings to be fair and only the folks who played by the rules get the chance to win!

Check out my Holiday Buying Guide #Video #VLOG and interview with @RobertVerdi for my @ProcterGamble #PGHoliday Buying Guide!

Robert Verdi Proctor and Gamble Holiday Buying Guide Blog Shoot Pro Shot Gifts 01 WATERMARKED
Founder and Butterfly-in-Chief of Ascending Butterfly Tracy Iglesias shoots holiday buying gift guide VLOG at Robert Verdi's Luxe Lab in New York City!

Within a few days of each other I spent a week shooting my first ever VLOGs for Ascending Butterfly. I'm much more comfortable sharing my world from behind my camera and from my computer then I am with being in front of the camera or on video, but when I was offered the opportunity to film a Video VLOG for P&G with Lifestyle Expert, Celebrity Stylist and Television Personality, Robert Verdi I jumped at the chance!

Despite four years of keeping myself relatively hidden I knew after the health scare I experienced last year and the horrible way I started 2012 that it was time for me to jump in front of the camera, take risks and really meet life head on! How can you inspire others to come outside their comfort zones and be a good life coach if you don't rise up to challenges that make you uncomfortable in your own life?

The first time I was ever on television I was 5 years old and had won a national competition and the grand prize was an appearance on the television show Romper Room. I hadn't been in front of a camera since. To say I was super nervous, is probably the under-statement of the century! (I think I was a lot more calm when I was five!)

All my nerves were immediately calmed upon entering Robert Verdi's Luxe Laboratory! I was met by the 'Glam Squad' which started with Nails, and I can tell you I gave the manicurist quite a job as my nails were in really sad shape! I picked out a perfect Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in (180 Lasting Love), which was a very close match my signature red lip that I custom blend. This high gloss nail polish does not require a top coat and lasted one week chip free on my nails. No easy feat, because I put my hands and nails through a lot of typing, being in water and I kept expecting that the tips of my nails would chip fast, and was super surprised that they didn't! I also loved that they dried super fast! Later on that same day I got my thumb caught in a zipper of my handbag and it did not smudge, chip, smear or budge, color me impressed!

Then it was on to makeup, I was super happy when the makeup artist chose not to change my lip color, she liked my custom red so much she left it alone! That's quite a compliment!

The products I selected include:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  -  Lulu Lemon 'Daily Om Duffel' (perfect for gym, travel or daily commuters like me!)
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  -  Cambridge 'The Metallics' Satchel in Metallic Rose Gold (perfect for New Years Eve!)
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  -  Olay Pro X Advanced Cleansing Skincare System
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  - P&G Little Luxuries Gift Set (available at your local drugstore, you know, like the one I am a blogger brand ambassador for maybe? :)
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  - UGG Womens Great Jones Earmuff W/Speaker Technology (Perfect for those cold winters to keep jack frost from nipping at your ears while still listening to music on the go. This matches my new Jacket and Gloves!)
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  - I also picked Diane Von Furstenberg Headphones in the 'Stone Leopard Red' Print, paired with gloves that allow for smartphone use and I love how cleverly the fingers of the gloves are stuffed with Covergirl Outlast Lipsticks in each finger, what teenage girl wouldn' t love that bundle?
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  - I also loved the quirky yellow rubbery iPod Portable Speaker! (Needless to say that the #TwitterPartyDJ is always on the lookout for great music accessories!)
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ  - And don't forget your Tide to go Instant Stain Remover sticks, I have one in my handbag at all times and keep one in my desk at work and at home, they really do work! I've had all kinds of things spilled on me during events and these have kept favorite outfits from being ruined!

Featured #Handbag in the Spotlight: It's YOUR choice! Win a $100 @wilsonsleather Gift Card with @Ascending1

Wilsons Logo

Happy Holidays Butterflies! I didn't want you think that we forgot about the Featured Handbag in the Spotlight Feature for November! This time we are doing a unique twist, I'm not featuring a specific bag, I'm letting you select the star!

As most of you know I spent most of my 2012 in and out of the hospital. Hospital food coupled with not even wanting to eat most days meant I lost quite a bit of weight, and this winter the first thing I realized is that my winter coat was a bit too big and this year I needed a brand new coat.

So given the choice, despite the fact I always have leather handbags on my brain, I did the practical thing and opted for a new coat, and I couldn't be happier! I've been a longtime fan of Wilsons. As a teen, as soon as I started earning my own money, my very first handbag purchase was a Wilsons Leather handbag I purchased at my favorite mall. I loved that bag, and fell in love Wilsons too, I went on to buy many of my coats and leather blazers and handbags at Wilsons Leather both in store and then eventually online. I am thoroughly familiar with the quality of their leather and how well their products stand the test of time. That first handbag I bought from them as a teenager I actually passed along to someone not long ago and it was still in such great shape it looked new on the inside and out! It was just too small for my day to day needs now, but it was literally no worse for wear.

Here is the coat I opted on:

Wilsons Leather Hooded Leather Jacket with Fur Trim Back View
Wilsons Leather Ultimate hooded Faux Shearling Leather Jacket - Back

Wilsons Leather Hooded Leather Jacket with Fur Trim
Wilsons Leather Ultimate hooded Faux Shearling Leather Jacket - Front

Say hello to the Wilsons Ultimate hooded Faux-Shearling Leather Jacket! The leather is 100% genuine leather, the fur trim is faux shearling and 100% warm, cozy and inviting. This jacket is super comfortable, and very warm and the hood doesn't fall down as I walk, when I have it up it stays up (no dorky string either). I can't tell you just how much I love this coat, if they decide to add it in other colors I would totally get it in every color! Look at the shaping and detaling on this coat!

I have worn it everywhere so far! Here is a picture of me wearing it:

DRExcedrin Event Herald Square me 01 WATERMARKED
Ascending Butterfly wearing Wilsons Leather Ultimate Hooded Faux Shearling Genuine Leather Jacket

My Take:

I have received tons of compliments on this jacket! I also wanted to point out that this one really runs true to size, I've purchased from them enough to know I usually have to size up (and if you read reviews this is across the board and not restricted to one type of sizing), with this after reading the measurements I opted not to size up and I was worried at first that it might not leave me the room necessary for heavier sweaters, but I'm glad I didn't size up, this fits well with winter weight wool business jackets and thicker sweaters underneath, so if you are buying this one, order it in your true size, do not size up it won't be necessary. It's super warm, but it's NOT overly heavy or bulky when wearing it or removing it if you are carrying it around indoors when you take it off. I absolutely love it! I'd totally love to see this one in a Red color!

Win It:

Our friends at Wilsons Leather wanted to join in on the Holiday Fun and offer 1 lucky reader the chance to win a $100 Gift Card that you can use to purchase anything your heart desires in store or online! Buy a great new handbag or put it toward a new coat or jacket with their great pricing and frequent sales the sky really is the limit on how far that gift card could stretch!
