During #Blogher15 @Staples took us all #BacktoSchool #StaplesBTS - Are YOU ready?

Blogging Conferences come with their share of private events (and in some cases have VIP badges that offer a very difference experience than the standard conference badge) and this year during BlogHer15, Staples organized an invite only Breakfast to help Bloggers get ready for Back-to-School with special appearances by TV Personality Leeza Gibbons and Jamie Primak Sullivan of #cawfeetawk and Bravo TV's Jersey Belle.

Check out this video!

Some of the 'Trends' & Initiatives by Staples for 2015 include:

Designed by Students - Who knows what students need better than students right? (Well maybe Teachers!), but this line of products and tools designed by students to help address common classroom needs include The Big Pen (a pencil case and writing instrument all-in-one), the Big Props Pencil Case (doubles as a tablet stand) and the Super Folder which includes storage areas, a zipper pouch, clear pockets for class schedules, a pencil sharpener, sticky notes and a writing pad!

Positive Impact/Me to We - Staples and Me to We (a social enterprise that provides people with better choices for a better world) have joined forces to make socially conscious shopping easy with a line of eco-friendly school supplies. Each product provides a life-changing impact in a developing community where Me to We's partner, Free the Children works and the Me to We Collection includes notebooks, composition books, binders, portfolios, backpacks, pencil pouches and more with a price range from $1.99 - $29.99

Want to know HOW your purchase makes a SPECIFIC Impact?

Me to We Core Notebook provides MEDICINE
Me to We 10.5" Notebook provides FARM SEEDS
Me to We Journal provides MEDICINE
Me to We Composition Book provides MEDICINE
Me to We Casemade Binder provides ONE TREE
Me to We Portfolio provides CLEAN WATER
Me to We Water Bottle provides CLEAN WATER FOR ONE WEEK
Me to We Rafiki provides ONE YEAR OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO ONE CHILD

Camouflage - an 'army' of backpacks and accessories (no pun intended)! The OGIO Evader and Stellar Backpacks feature a large main compartment, padded laptop sleeve and ergonomic shoulder straps for comfort and there are coordinating Camouflage Composition Books and a Maze Calculator to match.

Tech Pop Design - Exclusive Teen Vogue products which are only available at Staples (we have featured the collection before HERE), look for Teen Vogue BETTER Binders, Staplers, Patterned Folders and Staples Tech Pop Folders in stores.

Graphic Design - Look for Continental Into the Wild and Continental Vibrance Notebooks and Composition Books and Tie-dye, inspirational sayings and fun graphics (including glasses and mustaches) from Gartner Studios.

Fun for School - with favorite characters including The Avengers, Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Disney Frozen and more!

Metallic - If your DD loves glitter, diamonds and sassy sayings in combos of pink, silver, purple and bold/sparkly hues this is the collection for her! (or him, just saying, no judgement!)

Technology - From Scientific Calculators to Tablets including my particular fave the Microsoft Surface Pro, you can find the tech that your student needs at Staples as well!

Tech Accessories - Staples Flat Charge & Sync USB Cables, for a 'cool factor' the Light Pulse Electroluminescent Charge and Sync Cable or even iPhone Cases, there are tech accessories to suit a wide variety of tastes.

Organizational Supplies - Mom, Teacher and Students can benefit from desktop organization from Staples Desk Accessories Collection, Sky Planners, Calendars and more! (As a former Special Ed Teacher I can tell you a gift card to Staples is WAY more useful than an Apple! Teachers often fund their classrooms from their own salary, particularly in public schools so a gift card to Staples as a gift to Teacher can really go a LONG way!)

MY TAKE:

With Staples 110% Price Match Guarantee (through 9/15) and Super Wide Selection you can definitely consider them 'your one-stop shop' for Back-to-School this year! I have always admired Leeza Gibbons and it was neat to finally meet her in person! She is super down to earth. The photo above is the pro-shot that was taken, someone accidentally cut off their heads in the personal photo I had someone take with my camera and they were nice enough to take another photo. I didn't notice until I got home and saw the second photo on screen that my eyes were completely closed so I opted to use the pro shot instead for this post!

and what is a Blogging Conference Event without an awesome gift bag right?

Can't get mad at this big bag of 'swaggu'!

Have you done all your Back-To-School Shopping yet? Even if you don't have to shop for BTS (I get ya, I don't have children either!), many of the items above are just as perfect for a Home Office, which item referenced appeals to you MOST?

#ad: I got celebrated with a #StaplesSymphony and YOU get a chance to win a $100 @Staples Gift Card! {#Giveaway}

Staples Logo

My night at the New York Philharmonic must have started something because I recently had the chance to turn an everyday errand into something pretty grand! A visit to Staples Flagship New York City Store in Manhattan to buy replacement Printer Ink Cartridges resulted in me being celebrated by a 20 piece orchestra! Before you say 'just another day in New York' I have to tell you it was pretty out of the ordinary!

Aside from those old 'you're the millioneth customer' balloon greetings, it's not everyday any retailer just opts to celebrate every single customer that walks in the door! Nevertheless with a full on orchestra! It took mostly everyone by surprise as you can see in the video below:

What few people know about me is that I've been a digital Entrepreneur in some form or another since late High School/early College, I've run a Graphic Design firm, a Translation and Transcription Service, and was running an internet professional association that went international in the late 90's! Your butterfly has been at this for a long time now lovelies; and in my latest career incarnation (or is that incarnations since it's way more than one thing I'm dabbling in at the moment): a Career/Life Coach, Freelance Writer, Social Media Consultant and of course Lifestyle Blogger. I'm no stranger to Office Supply stores that's for sure, but Staples does tend to always be my go-to, and before green became a buzzword, I was participating in the Staples Ink Recycling program since they first offered it!

#StaplesSymphony

Did you know?

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Each year Staples recycles 65 million ink and toner cartridges!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Each year Staples.com sells approximately 10 million ink and toner cartridges and 45 million in store! (that's a lot of ink!)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Staples retail stores carry 650 SKUS for Ink AND Toner and on Staples.com you can find 4,000 (double the amount since 2012!)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - You can hop on the Reward train and join Staples Rewards where members printer ink cartridges and toner supply orders SHIP FREE when ordered online + members can earn 5% back in Staples Rewards!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - $2 in Staples Rewards for EACH ink and toner cartridge recycled.

I actually have two active printers right now (I print A LOT!) I use one exclusively for images (Kodak) and the other (HP) for contracts, event invites and office stuff! I needed replacement ink for the one I use most often for office printing, this one:

HP Deskjet 3052A Printer

I like to stock up on the combo pack and just before I have to open the last combo pack I go buy three more so I never run out when I need to print something important! This is the one I normally select:

HP Combo Pack Ink Cartridges 61
Of course it's this one, there's a BUTTERFLY on the box! :-)

Here is the video of my #StaplesSymphony Shopping Experience:

We interrupt your summer to tell you that it's almost time for BACK TO SCHOOL! #StaplesHasIt + @NickCannon & a #Giveaway too!

#StaplesHasIt

I know the thought of Back to School will send all your child's hairs to stand on end, but doing all your shopping at the very last minute, will do the same to your wallet! Did you know that the bulk of a student's shopping budget is actually in 'tech' products now? And not every back to school shopping retailer can offer a wide range of school supplies AND technology products too at affordable prices that won't break the bank!

I recently attended a Back-to-School event where we got one resounding message loud and clear STAPLES HAS IT, or in this new age of speaking in hashtags: #StaplesHasIt

Back-to-School Made Easy with the Newest Trends

For the 2013 Back-to-School Shopping Season, Staples is offering an expanded assortment of fashionable and super functional must-have supplies, that will make going to back to class more fun! To help families save money on those must-have supplies the popular Back-to-School Savings Pass is back this year which gives you a 15 percent discount on supplies! Remember you can only purchase the pass through August 31st, and it's valid through September 21st which is great, because sometimes despite our best efforts we end up having to make multiple trips to the store for supply runs anyway! The pass costs $10, but if even if you have only one tech item on your list the 15% discount will help ensure that the cost of the savings pass pays for itself!

Some trends you'll spot at Staples this season include:

Neon Sharpies

Neon - Get into the groove will cool and bold hues, Neon Sharpies or the Quilted Collection of Zipper Binders, Pencil Pouches, Tablet Cases and Clipboards!

Exclusive Patterns and Designs - Let's face it, individual expression is what it's all about, and Staples offers unique designs on products like the Staples BETTER binders, sticky notes and index card holders. One of my favorites are the ARC notebooks that offer a customizable cover that you can change whenever you get bored or want to mix things up! (for me it's like the notebook equivalent of swapping out your desktop wallpaper!)

Twinkle, Twinkle - The Glo-Lite Collection lights up when pushed and includes staplers, rulers and dry-erase boards. The Fiber Optic Pencil Pouches which are Exclusive to Staples, twinkle with designs that include shoe, piano and paisley. The Magnetic Motion Sensor Locker Chandelier with seven LED lights, the exclusive Glo-Lite Magnetic Pencil Bin, glitter rugs, Twinkle Scissors and magnetic wallpaper will help students spruce up their space and stand out in style.

Tech You Can Touch - The Acer Aspire Touch Laptop and new tablets like the HP Slate with Beats, Samsung Galaxy II, Samsung Note 8.0, Google Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD help kids stay connected online both in and out of the classroom. (Again that savings pass will come in handy if you plan to purchase any tech for Back-to-School). And of course you need a cool case to protect your new touch device, how about a Zebra Print Tablet Case by Jansport? (pictured above)

Non Basic Basics -  I fell in love with the new, bendable Staples Flexible Calculator, and the Scotch Magic Chameleon Tape Dispenser which changes color when touched! (pictured above)

Lunchtime = Funtime - The Fit and Fresh 14 Piece Healthy Lunch Set features perfectly proportioned containers with ice packs that snap into the lids! Cool It! Ice Packs will keep the chill in any lunch bag or box. Or enjoy the updated classic LEGO Lunch Box. (all are pictured above)

Celebrity Surprise:

Staples surprised us all when Nick Cannon and AJ from Extra payed a visit to promote his Designer N-Tune headphones produced by Monster!

I was there! Here is a picture of Nick giving me, 'The Official #TwitterPartyDJ' my new Monster NCredible N-Tune On-Ear Headphones (Black):

Staples Gives Back:

Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and Staples, Inc have teamed up with teen actor Jake T. Austin for the 6th annual Staples for Students national school supply drive to help kids get the tools they need to be successful in school and achieve great futures!

There are THREE ways YOU can HELP!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Give $1 at checkout - Donate $1 at any Staples register from June 30 - September 28

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Share to Give - Visit Staples for Students on Facebook and they will donate $1 for every share starting July 15th! Isn't that awesome?

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Donate Supplies -  Drop off donated supplies at your local Staples August 11-17th (Just make sure it's not the stuff you pilfered from the office, LOL)

My Take:

As a tech enthusiast I know the Savings Pass will definitely pay for itself! It's been awesome having the opportunity to attend Staples Preview Events, they always present something unique, and their events are always fun, but I will admit I didn't expect the celebrity surprise this time, and Nick couldn't have been more down to earth. I can see why he is so excited about his latest collaboration, Monster produces quality audio accessories and better still they really stand behind them (which I can personally attest to, when my Monster Vivienne Tam Butterfly Headphones died way before they should have, Monster took the time to make it right and send me a replacement, which is not just good customer service, it means they really stand behind the product!). Nick took the time out of his day, to present each and every single one of us with our headphones and to take pictures. He was super approachable and I definitely wish this latest venture of Nick's great success!

YOUR Chance to WIN:

Check out the #StaplesHasIt Photobomb Giveaway - Every Tuesday you can enter the #StaplesHasIt Photobomb Giveaway by submitting a caption for a chance to win a tablet and a Savings Pass! You can enter via Facebook or by following @Staples via twitter and tweeting your caption to the photo of the week! (Hint: That Cool Tape Dispenser I Posted the Picture of above? it just might be in this week's giveaway, so get those creative juices flowing and head on over for your chance to win!)

Have you started your Back-to-School Shopping Yet? What is on your shopping list for this year Butterflies?

˙·٠•● Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ●•●•٠·˙˙·٠•● Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ●•●•٠·˙˙·٠•● Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ●•●•٠·˙

FTC Disclosure: We were provided with the opportunity to learn of Staples Back-toSchool Products at a Digital Press Preview Event, we got to meet Nick Cannon and were supplied with the N-Tune headphones  and a gift bag with an assortment of products to facilitate our review, no monetary compensation has been received in exchange for our event recap coverage. All opinions are 100% my own. See our full disclosure policy for any questions.

Organizational tips to get you organized, motivated and ready for Tax Season! + A Great Twitter Party too! {Photos} #StaplesOrgTips

Dirty Little Secret? My desk and closets are usually not so organized. and the bigger the mountain of paperwork gets, the less motivated I feel to tackle it. But right now, an organizer is NOT in my budget. I wish it were!

Last week I had the chance to attend a live event hosted by Staples whose focus was organizational tips, DING!, DING!, DING! serious New Year light bulb moment. While you know how I feel about 'formal resolutions', I prefer making both short and long term goals throughout the year and adjusting them as I tackle them with new ones, one of the goals I set for myself in 2013 was getting my space a bit more organized. I know it's not going to be an overnight process and has to be taken in stages, but this event motivated me to get started.

So start I did. And I'm super proud to report that I am sitting at my desk which is at this moment, the most organized I've ever seen it. I tackled a mountain of folders, press kits and personal and professional paperwork that had built up over a span of time. I'm feeling a bit pleased with myself right about now.

While I'm still waiting on some paperwork to be able to tackle my taxes this year, getting my desk organized will make things so much easier for me when it's time to start preparing my taxes. or for anything really, there is something about a clutter free space that gives you new energy!

“A well-organized office helps you find what you need and to work efficiently, which reduces stress,” said Julie Morgenstern, an internationally known organizing and time management expert. “More importantly, staying organized lets you to spend more of your valuable time on what’s most important to your business.”

Tips to Get Yourself More Organized:

Staples newly expanded product assortment ensures that businesses have every product they need to succced. In addition, Staples recommends a few easy steps - shed, shred, and get ahead - to help customers increase efficiency and organize the office.

Shed – purge unwanted files or papers and organize the documents in binders. The Internal Revenue Service recommends keeping important business records from three to seven years, depending on the documents. Staples recently launched its Binder Recycling Program, which gives customers $2 off the purchase of a new binder for each binder they bring in to a Staples store to recycle.

Shred – protect your business and identity against fraud by shredding unneeded paperwork with sensitive information. For larger jobs, consider Staples Copy & Print, which offers confidential shredding at great prices.

Get Ahead – The New Year is also a good time to make sure electronic files are secure and protected. It’s critical for any small business owner to have the right organizational tools such as network storage devices to back up files especially as tax season gets started.

Staples’ expanded assortment features top organizational products for the New Year including:

Staples New BETTER Binder with removable FileRings™ - the first of its kind binder features file rings that detach from the shell for easy filing in any standard filing cabinet. Now available in black, white, red, green and blue covers exclusively on Staples.com (Staples 1-inch BETTER Binder: $12.99 and removable FileRings: $4.99).

Staples 10-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder – New and improved, the Staples shredder has several new features including a convenient pull out bin, and a lockout key that functions as a master power control and renders the shredder non-functional until the key is replaced. ($99.99)

Staples One-Touch™ Aero Stapler Perfect for the consumer who has an eye for design and likes to personalize their desk supplies. The 20-sheet capacity Aero offers contemporary designs with a raised handle that makes stapling effortless. Available in black, silver or blue. ($14.99)

Martha Stewart Home Office™ with Avery™ – With this beautiful line of innovative products, customers can keep their office organized and looking great. Available exclusively at Staples, the collection features an accordion file, which is perfect for tax organization. (Starting at $11.99)

M by Staples™ Arc Customizable Notebook System –Available in durable poly or leather covers with premium, heavyweight paper, this customizable notebook has repositionable sheets that can moved from one section to another making organization a breeze. (Starting at $7.99)

Relay Flash Drives – The easy and smart way to transfer files from one computer to another.  (64GB-$69.99; 32GB-$49.99; 16GB-$27.99; 8GB-$17.99)

TurboTax® – This tax software makes it easy for anyone to be their own tax expert. Staples is offering $10 off all deluxe and higher TurboTax solutions along with FREE software (Intuit Quicken 2013 Starter and McAfee Internet Security) after rebate.

External Encrypted Portable Drives – For anyone wanting to ensure confidential, commercially sensitive files are kept secure, Staples has a great assortment of encrypted drives.  Starting WD’s 500GB My Passport ($79.99) and up to two terabytes ($149.99).

Technology Update - Staples offers a great selection of the hottest new computers, laptops, tablets and printers to improve your organization and productivity in the New Year.  Staples customers nationwide can experience the latest Windows 8 computers and get help selecting the right computer from certified Staples EasyTech associates.

Martha Stewart Home Office™ Blair Collection - Improve organization, filing and overall productivity in any workspace with the Martha Stewart Home Office™ Blair Collection office furniture.  Available exclusively at Staples and Staples.com, the streamlined Blair desk (walnut brown or sand gray finishes) provides a generous work surface with hidden power strip, USB ports and drop-front center drawer that converts into a shelf. ($299)

My Take:

Something certainly rubbed off on me from this event, because I immediately put both the tips and products to good use. It took a couple of hours, but I got my desk organized and I couldn't be happier that I did. I started small, one pile of paperwork at a time, and everytime I cleared out a pile I took a break and went back to it, until it was done.

I wanted to point out some of the products that are particular standouts for me, I have been using the M by Staples™ Arc Customizable Notebook System for just under one year and I have to tell you I love it. I have been using the refillable planner, and while initially I hesitated using it because it is much larger than my previous planners, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not bulky or heavy and the vinyl sleeve inserts have given me a great way to store receipts, business cards, bus schedules, and more. I love that you can easily remove and insert pages as needed. There is only one small change I wish they would make to it, a place to put your pen. Since the rings are closed I can't insert a pen there, and the one I have doesn't have a pen holder. But this has really helped me stay organized. While I love my smartphone, for some reason I still prefer to carry an actual planner with me, and this system really works well for me. While I don't personally own the shredder they recommend, I do have a shredder that has a wall mount option which I love, but if you don't have the space for one, the affordable paper shredding services are perfect!

Another product I got to try that I really like is the BETTER Binder with Removable File Ring above. Oftentimes there are documents that you need to have additional copies on file for, but don't have enough room in the file cabinet to store it in a binder, the removable file ring allows you to easily file a copy of larger documents like annual reports.

Wanna Win an @ToshibaUSA Satellite® U845 Ultrabook™ with an Intel® Core™ i5 processor for yourself? Then VOTE -

Vote by clicking here: http://www.thebigreboot.biz/entries/508

I just entered a contest for small businesses called The Big Reboot. It’s sponsored by Toshiba, Intel and Staples, and we could win a $10,000 technology makeover for our business Ascending Butterfly. And we could use your help.

Vote for Ascending Butterfly in The Big Reboot! I'm going to try again and again each entry period until I win! That's just how much I believe that a Lifestyle and Empowerment Coach can take the latest technology and utilize it to inspire not just double, but triple the amount of people we can reach in one week of providing Coaching Services! At the last 3 conferences I attended this year, many different people ended our conversation by stating not only that they were happy to meet me, but the conversation left them inspired and energized to tackle a project they had been putting off for sometime. That just solidified my determination that I am on the right path! So in case the picture above looks like a repeat it's not, the original entry period I tried for is now closed, a new entry period has opened, and old entries do not carry over from each entry period because the question being answered changes each entry period. So here is this week new entry question:

The Essay asked me to answer this:

Tell us how your business is Powering Service, and how a $10,000 technology makeover would help you do it even better.
==============================================
My Answer:

Ascending Butterfly takes Life Coaching Services and Empowerment and inspiration to the extreme with daily breathing affimational meditations that help empower our readers with the tools they need to change their mindset into a place of ultimate success, a place that takes their outer worlds and inner worlds and helps them to live them both not just on their terms but better!

A high tech makeover, takes what we are already doing well, inspiring and empowering people, to a wider scale. Faster technology allows us to reach even MORE people faster and in the comfort of their own homes where they are invariably way less guarded and much more open to the Life Coaching Services we bring!

We'd like Toshiba, Intel and Staples as well as the The Big Reboot to believe in us in the same way we believe and aspire to inspire and empower others! Together we could truly pay it forward!

==============================================

Please vote for us at http://www.thebigreboot.biz/entries/508 – your support increases our chances of winning. And just for voting, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a Satellite® U845 Ultrabook™ with an Intel® Core™ i5 processor for yourself!

Thanks so much for your vote and your support. Of course, we wouldn’t be here without great readers like you.

Sincerely,
Tracy Iglesias
Ascending Butterfly

If you win a laptop just for voting, please be sure to come back here and let us know, and be sure to sticky this page so you can remember to come back and vote daily!

I've Joined The Big Reboot and YOU can too! Just by voting, you can win a Tosiba Portege Ultrabook!

My medical scare this year has been making me crave change, not just any change however, something focused, impactful and meaningful. With career being first and foremost on my mind. I've been providing Life Coaching for about 10 years now, it started as purely Career Coaching as an off-shoot of my work when I worked for a high volume staffing agency. And has transformed to Life Coaching throughout the years. When people read my blog business card which does not even mention my Life Coaching, they immediately associate the name to a Life Coach.

I'd like to integrate my offline and online worlds and I feel The Big Reboot will help me do it, I am hoping this Technology Makeover will help make both my worlds a bit more efficient, which would make me a much better coach!

So if you want to vote for my entry and learn more about how you can enter too, please click HERE! <- Did I forget to mention that just by voting, you get an entry to win a super hot Toshiba Portege Ultrabook. (But I'm sure you would have voted for me without the extra incentive, right?) ;-)

Forgot to mention, this is a DAILY VOTE, and I need 50 votes to even qualify for the grand prize, which I must do before 09/23!

  ˙·٠•● Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ●•●•٠·˙˙·٠•● Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ●•●•٠·˙˙·٠•● Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ●•●•٠·˙

FTC Disclosure: This is NOT a sponsored post. I was not required to post about my contest entry and all opinions are 100% my own. I do feel this Technology Makeover would be amazing for my brand!

From Left to Right: Kristin Russo (far left), Grace Hwang Lynch (Session Moderator behind laptop), Carol Cain (wearing glasses) and Sabrina Enayatula (far right). This was a great panel! Press on any of the panelists' names to check out their sites!

Staples was featuring their Martha Stewart Home Office Products, notice the butterfly to the right?  Butterflies follow me everywhere, no wonder I'm a butterfly blogger! I only wish my home office was this organized!

There are some great photos from other parts of BlogHer12 that I will share in other posts, hope you enjoyed these! (I am way more comfortable BEHIND the camera than I am in front of it!) You can also see these pics on Ascending Butterfly's Pinterest Page on the BlogHer 2012 Board!

Did you attend BlogHer12? If so, please feel free to share your Wordless Wednesday BlogHer12 recap links here so we can all see them!
