See why @Karen_Kane has got resort wear on my brain! + I want to blog @WWDMAGIC in #LasVegas! #IWanttoBlogatWWDMAGIC

OK, so I'll admit to being a little jelly of my friends having a grand old time at CES, what Disney is for kids, Las Vegas is for me! Shiny Lights, Never-Ending Nights, Sparkle Everywhere, Fun Shows, Great Dinners, I'm convinced I probably already lived there in another life!

While my schedule didn't permit me to do CES this year, I am saving the date for WWD Magic in Las Vegas February 18-20th! Did you know that FOCUS on Fashion Retail magazine has listed WWDMAGIC as one of the Top 5 Trade Shows in 2013? With Womens Wear Daily being the authority on Fashion and Vegas being where the Fashionable go to play no wonder this show gets rave reviews everytime!

Needless to say this butterfly wants to be a part of it and while they have a staggering array of Brands at their upcoming show, I am going to focus on one. You all know when I attend Fashion Week shows here in New York City I will invariably end up focusing on the designs that feel more 'off the runway real'. The styles that we will really be seeing on the streets, because while haute couture and high fashion have their place, not all of it transcends to what real women wear daily.

I'd love to particularly see what Designer Karen Kane brings to the table at WWD Magic, I discovered her line a few years ago at a favorite department store and still have those first purchases! Her clothes definitely wear well! Her Fashions are super approachable, easy to wear and best reflects all different sides of me including day wear for office, easy casuals for weekends and stuff that goes somewhere in between too!

Because my winter break was more of a staycation and I didn't do my annual escape to the Caribbean last year, my mind is focused on Resort Wear and Summer 2014. Here in the Northeast we started the year with a snowstorm and of course there is nothing but more snow in the forecast, so my mind is desperately seeking warm weather! I'm thinking warm weather fashion is just the distraction I need to get me there and aid in my planning for a perfect summer escape!

Curated Fashion Selection from Karen Kane St Tropez Resort Collection 2014, WWDMAGIC Blog Entry

What do you think of my Curated Picks from the Collection?

My Take:

I love the sheer versatility of Karen Kane's St. Tropez Collection. You can mix, match and can pull an outfit together quickly for any occasion day or night with ease! Centered around key basics like the black jacket, white jacket, pencil skirt and white pants that can then be matched up with a stylish top so you can travel with less pieces and still have a very complete wardrobe with you!

I would love to be one of the bloggers selected to blog about WWD Magic this year, and hope you'll show your support. 15 finalist entries will compete in a Facebook Vote Off and that's where I am really going to need your help butterflies, I'll keep you posted if I make it to the final round and where you should vote if I do get selected, so stay tuned!

I've Joined The Big Reboot and YOU can too! Just by voting, you can win a Tosiba Portege Ultrabook!

My medical scare this year has been making me crave change, not just any change however, something focused, impactful and meaningful. With career being first and foremost on my mind. I've been providing Life Coaching for about 10 years now, it started as purely Career Coaching as an off-shoot of my work when I worked for a high volume staffing agency. And has transformed to Life Coaching throughout the years. When people read my blog business card which does not even mention my Life Coaching, they immediately associate the name to a Life Coach.

I'd like to integrate my offline and online worlds and I feel The Big Reboot will help me do it, I am hoping this Technology Makeover will help make both my worlds a bit more efficient, which would make me a much better coach!

So if you want to vote for my entry and learn more about how you can enter too, please click HERE! <- Did I forget to mention that just by voting, you get an entry to win a super hot Toshiba Portege Ultrabook. (But I'm sure you would have voted for me without the extra incentive, right?) ;-)

Forgot to mention, this is a DAILY VOTE, and I need 50 votes to even qualify for the grand prize, which I must do before 09/23!

My #DReade Entry:

So while I'm happy to share the information about this contest with fellow NYC based bloggers, this post today is also my entry!

Working my way through College in New York City I signed up for 10 local temp agencies, I needed flexible schedules and spent my time from week to week and sometimes from day to day being switched to a new company, new department, new team and new desk. My time temping in New York City made me flexible, adaptable, able to learn new proprietary databases with ease and I've even learned to design my own databases since those days. In the begining being somewhere new each week and some weeks each day, was incredibly daunting, and even lonely at times.

The only constant in my travels around the city was and still is Duane Reade. There was always a Duane Reade near my job site. And I found myself visiting pretty much daily. There was something comforting to me about going inside. I have them near my home, near school and work, it gave me something consistent at a time when my life's normal was inconsistency.

Since my College days, nothing has changed and everything has changed. Duane Reade is still my go to no matter what I'm shopping for. Back then it was more soda's and sweet snacks for the afternoon after 3pm slump, now it's more multi-vitamins and dietary supplements as well as household and toiletries, but they are still my first choice for my weekend errands to pick up those essentials!

My lifelong love of my city has often been shared on the pages of this blog. I was also briefly pre-med (I wanted to be cardiologist since Kindegarten, YES I was THAT specific) and was a contributing writer during College to a local newspaper's medical/health section. I can't imagine a more perfect blogging opportunity for me, I love NYC (I know the city quite well), I love Duane Reade, and I love writing about Health topics because although life got in the way of my plans to pursue a career in medicine and treat patients, I still have a love for Science, Medicine and Health topics.

I hope my readers will post a quick comment here or on Duane Reade's Facebook Page, telling them just how much Ascending Butterfly would be a perfect fit for Duane Reade's 2012 VIP Influencer Program! (Never know if giveaways will be part of this program, and if there are, you know Ascending Butterfly always looks out for her readers!)

Duane Reade, I am definitely one of your 10. My approach to wellness - a mind, body and soul endeavor means the sky is literally the limit in the ways I can blog for you! My diverse approach makes me the ideal candidate! Last year I worked with Kmart as part of their 10 Kmart Latina Smart VIP Bloggers, and it's given me great experience working with a brand that is so much a part of people's daily lives and homes, I'd love to do the same thing this year with Duane Reade!
