{#Wordless Wednesday} I met @AquafreshUS #CaptAquafresh at #BlogHer15 and learned #whatsSAP #SK

The BlogHer 2015 conference was a whirlwind, I bit off more than I could possibly chew, won a few contests on the expo hall floor, pet doggies from Rover and ASPCA (see more about one of the cuties I featured from the ASPCA HERE), had more than enough to eat (snacked my butt off with treats in the expo hall between dunkin donuts and baskin robbins) and got to meet the team behind Shea Mouisture, where their amaze balls hair stylist CUT my hair on the tradeshow floor and their makeup artist gave me life. It was a heck of ride, like always and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I figure the best way to recap a conference as large as BlogHer is in 'small chunks' so I thought I'd ease you guys in with a fun (Not Entirely) Wordless Wednesday Photo! - C'mon me go totally Wordless? NAH!

@AquafreshUS #CaptAquafresh #BlogHer15, BlogHer Conference 2015, Captain AquaFresh, AquaFresh Toothpaste
Above: The Team at AquaFresh was offering bloggers a year's supply of their newest toothpaste formulation that offers Sugar Acid Protection (SAP) from flouride to protect teeth from the sugar acids found in everyday foods while of course still delivering that fresh taste feeling from brushing. (There may have been a 'blogger brush those teeth!' theme going on, but that's fodder for an entirely different post! Let's just say I have some more toothpaste info to share with you from BlogHer15)

MY TAKE:

I am an anti-social introvert, yes I know that is a very odd thing for a social media consultant and lifestyle blogger to say, but I am. I love taking pictures OF things, but I hate being in photos myself. I have always been a bit camera shy, but the one thing that never fails to get me out of my shell is a mascot. I just can't resist taking photos with a Mascot, it's my obsession and it's one of the things I look most forward to at Conferences and TradeShows! (I have a thing for animal prints right now, and in case you are wondering the dress I am wearing is by Calvin Klein, the amber bracelet was a find on my last trip to Mexico, and the necklace I am wearing is by Satya Jewelry!

Team AquaFresh was so confident in their newest toothpaste's ability to protect your teeth that they were actually also giving away fresh baked sugar cookies from Amanda of @iambakertweets at their booth in addition to the photo opp with Captain AquaFresh.

Notice my clever use of borders, did you notice the red, white and blue I used to rep the colors on the stripes of the toothpaste? (Virtual High Five right!)

I attended BlogHer 2015 as a Brand Ambassador for Vitabath, and to celebrate the partnership I hosted a giveaway earlier this year, and I'm sure it won't be my last, so stay tuned for more fun giveaways coming soon. They actually recently shared one of their newest scents, Orchid Intrigue at a Blogger Brunch and I hope to be able to partner with them to do something fun for you guys as well. So shout outs both to AquaFresh for the fun mascot opp and year of free toothpaste and to Vitabath for sending me to BlogHer this year!

Bloggers, as always share the link to your Wordless Wednesday photos as a comment on this post and we will go visit your photos this week as well! (NO GIVEAWAY LINKIES PLEASE!)

Do the sugar acids in your favorite sweet treat cause tooth sensitivity? If so, which foods are you most sensitive to?

  1. I'm quite the same as you are. I am not too confident when I take pictures of myself but the story is different when I take shots of food and places I travel. I can be on a picture with someone else to make me feel more at ease. My teeth are sensitive to sour food.

  3. I am an anti-social introvert as well. I think working as a blogger and a freelance journalist have made me more so over the past year. I really must get out more...haha. ,I hate being in photos too. To answer your question, I don't have issues with my teeth when it comes to sugar acids in foods. I'm more sensitive to extremes (like when I eat ice cream and then drink hot coffee).

  4. Ah I've been following the hashtag for #BlogHer15 this year - I've only gone to two blogher's in the past (2011 in San Diego and 2014 in San Jose). So it's fun reading everyone's recaps on what I missed out on by not going to the NYC one this year. They always put off an amazing... and absolutley massive conference, don't they? One of my fav's to attend for sure. Wonder where next years will be!

  5. I've never had a problem with having my picture taken. My girlfriend tends to not like it, though. I'm usually not exactly matching. LOL.

  6. Hmm I think I've become more sensitive to sweet things as I get older. I love that you call it wordless. Change it tot Wordy Wednesday! LOL I loathe taking full body pics, but it is what it is right. :) Have a great day Tracy!

  8. My teeth are sensitive to cold food mostly. When I drink milkshakes it is the worst.

  10. I am the most sensitive with gummie bears and worms. Oh man they are horrible on my poor teeth. This is awesome, I adore aquarfresh products! - Jeanine

  11. This sounds like a great event. I am like you I prefer to be behind the camera and not in front of it.

  12. Love Capt Aquafresh! I would definitely need to meet him if I were there. I hadn't heard of SAP, but it's something I will be mindful of. Sugar acids don't sound good!

  13. I bet most people could use the Sugar Acid Protection they are now offering in their toothpaste. The Aquafresh guy looks super fun.

  14. I occasionally suffer from tooth sensitivity and it's usually when eating something too cold or too hot. I never knew sugar acids could actually be to blame.

  15. What a fun photo! I love my own selfies, but everyone else gets the wrong angle ;)

  16. LOL! I love that a Mascot gets you to take pictures. Maybe its because mascots are just fun and they allow you to have great memories of the moment you took it.

  17. I have never been to a blogger conference and they do seem to be heaps of fun with lots of brands to discover and highlight to readers such as me! Networking is so important and I think whatever happens in photos...as long as it looks like me, it is okay!

  18. I don't think I have any food sensitivity as far as I know. Thank goodness

  19. Looks like a great time. Sensitive teeth are hard to handle sometimes.

  20. Don't worry; you look great in the picture. I love seeing myself in a picture maybe, because of being raised to be used to family pictures. My teeth are sensitive to cold foods.

  21. See, you learn something new everyday. I had no idea there was a captain AquaFresh! lol

  22. You are cracking me up with your mascot love. Who knew? I think you're adorable! I can't believe how much you packed in at BlogHer, by the way.

  23. That is adorable! I love pictures with mascots too!

  24. I can relate. I am an introvert, too. I would rather take lots of photos of everything around me, but trust that I wouldn't be in the pictures. I am not a selfie girl, maybe once in a blue moon.

    I love Aquafresh!

  25. I'm an anti-social introvert too, I totally get what you're saying there. I love being behind the camera but not so much in front of it.

BlogHer is still on my list of big conferences to try. Once I'm back stateside, it's definitely on my radar. There's so much good information to garner from the conference.

  26. How Fun!! I grabbed a pic with the Captain while I was there too. It was so exciting. I don't find your description of yourself odd at all...I see myself as an introvert as well and at times anti-social but I just tend to hide it very well...LOL

  27. You achieved a lot at BlogHer by the sounds of it. Sounds like a lot of fun. I love how Aquafresh was giving away cookies too.

  28. I love going to BlogHer. The booth events are sometimes the most fun. Looks like you had a blast at the AquaFresh booth :)

  29. I am totally going to BlogHer next year with a title sponsorship deal! I enjoyed reading your post and it looks like you enjoyed yourself as an ambassador!

  30. I've never been to a blog conference, but the more I hear about them the more I realize I need to go. I suffer from social anxiety, so going to things like this are hard for me. But it sounds like so much fun, so I guess I need to just suck it up and go to one. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  31. I never realized the connection between sweets and tooth sensitivity before! I'll need to lay off the chocolate more :)

  32. Now I really wish I would have tried one of the cookies!!! I saw them there, but had just had ice cream over at the Baskin Robbins booth...
