Rune of Romance Necklace Review

In December, we worked with Energy Muse to bring you the Rune of 'Riches' Necklace see review HERE. For Valentine's Day I was sent the Rune of 'Romance' Necklace and as a single girl in the city, I have to admit I was bit curious to see if this one would work the same magic in my life as the Rune of Riches! I immediately put it on, saged it (I do this with all gemstone jewelry), set my intention, said the included affirmation and even added a few of my own. The weather was awful the day the necklace arrived, and I had stayed indoors the entire day and worked mostly from home.

The Day of it's Debut in New York City!

I finally had a chance to wear my new necklace and during New York Fashion Week No Less! With the awfully cold weather it was mostly under my coat and I wondered if I would experience the same results if the necklace wasn't as clearly visible.

I didn't have very long to wonder how well it would work! I was on the subway when a man sitting in front of me tried to strike up a conversation out of the blue! This rarely ever happens to me! Most of my subway conversations with strangers on trains are usually about the garbled announcement, or why is the train not moving?

During back to back events that day I found people 'friendlier', just more 'welcoming' somehow. 

After a super long day when I was finally on my way home, I realized I had no energy to cook but was starving, so I decided to pick up some fast food. As I was walking from the restaurant toward home, I saw someone coming toward me in the opposite direction. I had a feeling he was going to say something to me, but I wasn't very sure what. And I will admit as a born and raised New Yorker I was slightly expecting a dis-respectful catcall. And when he approached me, he completely took me in with his eyes (I must admit this was a bit off-putting!), and then just said 'Gorgeous' and turned beet red and walked away! He seemed more taken aback by it all than I was!

It was absolutely flattering to receive such a sincere compliment, and seeing a grown man turn as bashful as a kid was a fun bonus! He actually walked away before I could even answer!

I have found much like with the Rune of Riches people are very attracted to this necklace when I wear it. Maybe they can 'feel' the positive intentions I've set, and anything we are vibrationally aligned to is that much more powerful!

While I have not completed the full 21 day cycle of saying the included affirmations with this necklace, I have already noticed more people 'drawn' to me. I find during networking events I'm way less nervous, and I have noticed more attention when I am wearing this necklace, will 2011 finally be the year cupid gets me?

That, dear Butterflies, remains to be seen! J

What's Your 'Song in Your Head' Today?

I have been riding the wave of some amazing energy lately! I've attended some really fun events, scored some killer deals, and even tried on a FAB designer dress 4 sizes smaller than I expected (over pants by the way) and it looked fierce!

Lately I have been feeling like I am walking on sunshine, what's the 'song in your head' today? We all know how much our thoughts and our self talk can affect our outlook! So too can our entertainment!

The positive energy in my life lately has been creating more positive energy, and more noticeably positive self talk. I am quite aware that the best way to sustain this positive energy is to continue to fill my thoughts with positive thoughts, be it by daily affirmations, meditation, and even by positive music!

Even finding the photo above made me smile!

My Take:

I love the symbolism behind the two interlocking hearts! RedEnvelope has set themselves apart by offering a great variety of gifts, in elegant signature packaging, but this one is a bit more meaningful to me personally. Being born in April, Diamonds are my birthstone. Butterflies hold very special significance in my life and the interlocking hearts that form this butterfly I have taken to represent my grandmother and my great-grandmother who have passed being carried with me.

There is something just extra special about this necklace, and it's not just a perfect Valentine's Day gift, it's a special gift for any occasion, and I'd recommend it especially if you have any special Aries ladies in your life. It would also make a fabulous Sweet 16 or Quinceanera Gift for a special young lady.

The only thing I would advise is to change the chain if this is for an adult, the chain it comes with is a bit better suited as a gift for a young lady.

Sunday Moment of Gratitude - You no longer have to pardon our dust! Have you ever lived a month in a week?

This week, I am grateful for:

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Finally giving the baby a 'real name'. Ascending Butterfly is now officially http://www.ascendingbutterfly.com - I'd like to personally thank everyone for their encouragement, advice, and giving me that extra 'push' I needed to finally get this done! I wouldn't call it 'easy' or 'painless', but I will definitely call it worth it in the end! There are still some more changes in store, but for now you will probably immediately notice that the captcha code requirement has been removed! This is one suggestion we received from many of you, and we are happy to have implemented it. New York Fashion Week American Launch of Emu Australia


Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ -  I attended an amazing Fashion Week event for the American Launch of Emu Australia, you can check out my recap with additional photos HERE! New York Fashion week is always so fast paced and hectic, that it was really wonderful to close out the week with a show containing fashion that most people actually wear!



WowWee Debut of Lite Sprites


Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - I also attended some super fun events in conjunction with the Toy Fair, and I promise you'll see more detailed posts about these. I enjoyed seeing some new toys from PaperJamz at the Wowwee Event, and look forward to presenting the Lite Sprites and other great toys, including the new Justin Bieber Keyboard Guitar that was unveiled at the 2011 Toy Fair, that I got to see demos for! I actually really liked it the Bieber Guitar. Yes, I have officially scared myself! I had to snap this picture of the Lite Sprites because of course as you can see, there was a butterfly sighting!



Fisher Price Magical Fairy Wings Dora

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - In addition, I attended an event for Fisher Price where I had the chance to play with the toys in the 'Toy Lab' and rate the toys, hang out with my favorite NYC bloggie friends, and meet comedian Gilbert Gottfried in person! I have to say Fisher Price really went all out, and the staff at the venue which was the Loew's Hotel were amazing! (And the event manager in me will be keeping this space in mind for future events!) I couldn't resist taking a picture of Magical Fairy Wings Dora! I love all things with wings!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - I also attended a super fun event in conjunction with Travel Zoo's Local Deals called the "I heart NYC Meetup," hosted by Travelzoo held at SD26 - Groupon is not the only game in town anymore for local deals! Healthy competition means even better deals for us, what's not to love? We were sent home with a local deal to try out, and as soon as I have a chance to try this deal out, I will be sure to share it with you!

EMU Australia American Debut at STYLE360’s Fall 2011 Fashion Show!

This social butterfly has been super busy lately and boy are my wings tired! I had the pleasure of attending the STYLE360’s EMU Australia Fall 2011 Fashion Show today and it was great way to close out Fashion Week. There is something about cozy sweaters that bring out the best in everyone, it was one of the most 'approachable' of the NY Fashion Week events that I attended. I even saw a model smiling!

EMU Australia's first ever runway show was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion on 18th Street on a surprisingly mild weather day, it was a comprehensive overview of their upcoming collection set to music with an exclusive mix by Josh Madden! You can download the 'Aussie Mix' by Josh Madden and feel like you were there by clicking HERE

Black Leather Vest, Definite Closet Staple!

Emu's collection of vests, hats, sweaters, coats, boots and more leaned toward lighter colors which was a very nice surprise! (Although thankfully as a true New Yorker I did spot a lovely black leather vest that caught my eye, paired with a striped sweater, light wash denim and black ankle boots! Pictured Above!) As you already know I'm a super huge fan of Sheepskin (and Leather), and having had the opportunity to both see and touch, I'm definitely digging Emu's comfy, cozy, soft vibe combined with an under-stated but no less 'casual-luxe' look!

I can't even pretend that I can select a favorite, but I did really like the sweater coats in addition to the jackets and of course the boots, and if you haven't seen them the Emu Boots for children score very high on the 'cute-o-meter'! (And speaking of children, I have some NYC Toy Fair Recaps coming soon!)
