Highlights and #Photos from the @hayariparis Parfum Launch @HenriBendel #NewYorkCity

Hayari Parfums Paris Logo

Who is that woman in your life? You know the decidedly feminine one with a vanity not filled with a ton of 'cheap' scents but one classic one? One Vanity worthy beautiful bottle of her signature scent?

The women in my family all have very different senses of style, but are all very feminine and in many ways romantics at heart. As a girl I used to love watching my Mom get ready to go out, I was amazed by her ritual which always ended with her 'walking into' her scent.

As for me, it's hard to find a women's fragrance that doesn't go over the top with the florals to prove it's feminine and that has always been my biggest issue with women's fragrance. What use is beautiful packaging if the fragrance inside doesn't meet the mark?

Creating a fragrance is an art, finding your signature scent is certainly a journey, and the memories you create wearing it is the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned!

I recently had the opportunity to attend the launch of Hayari Parfums Paris debut at fine shopping retailer Henri Bendel in New York City. I knew if the House of 'Hayari Couture' was behind this trio of luxury fragrances that the packaging would certainly be beautiful and it did not disappoint, but what stands out is how ultra-feminine the trio really is. They are feminine in a way that harkens to old world romance, back to true sensuality, not just the sexuality that is used to sell everything under the sun now a days!

About Only For Her:

Created by 'the nose' behind 3 of Killian's perfumes, this unique scent pays homage to French Classic Elegance!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Top Notes: Freesia, Grapefruit

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Middle Notes: Magnolia, White Peony

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Base Notes: Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vanilla

Hayari Parfums Paris, Broderie
Hayari Parfums Paris, Broderie

About Broderie:

The inspiration for this fragrance (my personal favorite of the trio by the way) is embroidery and lace, which designer Nabil Hayari of the House of Hayari uses within his collections as they are the most elegant and glamorous of textiles. (I have a strong feeling my Grand-Mother would have loved this one as much as I do as her embroidery was very much top notch and she would have loved the back story on this scent!). I am also very partial to the Sandalwood and Amber combo!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Top Notes: Mandarin, Peach
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Middle Notes: Lys, Gardenia, Incense
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Base Notes: Sandalwood, Patchouli Oil, Amber

Hayari Parfums Paris, Goldy
Hayari Parfums Paris, Goldy

About Goldy:

This is a woody-powdery fragrance created by the nose behind Amouage Memoir Women inspired by glamorous vintage couture (which of course speaks to Nabil Hayari's background as a Couture Fashion Designer!). This is the scent that I received and as I love White Jasmine, Sandalwood and Cedarwood I do like Goldy (but I am a bit more partial to the way Broderie 'dies down' on my body chemistry), Goldy really does marry a combination of singular elements well, it is actually even parts Woody, Powdery and a subtle warm Oriental all at once which means your chemistry may play up one element more than the others, for some reason this one on me remains powdery making it very playful and soft so don't be put off by the 'woody-powder' description it really isn't too much of one or the other but a very smart marriage of the two!

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Top Notes: Mugwort, Rosemary
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Middle Notes: White Jasmine, Narcissus, Orange Blossom
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ - Base Notes: Sandalwood, Musk, Cedarwood

About The Designer, Nabil Hayari:

Drawn to the world of Fashion at a very early age, Mr. Hayari decided to create his own label in 2009, with a mission of bringing to life the type of gowns women dream of wearing. He has dressed Top Models and Princesses, and now with his line of fragrances in their 'blossom' designed packaging combining the faceting of jewels with the softness of a flower opening, he brings his sense of luxe fashion design to the world of fine fragrance.

At the launch at Henri Bendel's in New York City (The Fifth Avenue Boutique being the home of trendy fashionista's in New York) one of his beautiful gowns was also featured, here are photos from the launch:

My Take:

These are all ultra-feminine, sensual and romantic fragrances that are Vanity Worthy to say the least! These luxe scents are a must for holiday gift giving. (Although any occassion like a birthday and certainly for Valentine's Day would work too!).

There was no time to get this in our Holiday Buying Guide for a giveaway, but hopefully we can bring you something fun for our annual Valentine's 'Love' Guide in February! The Landmark Church St. Patrick's Cathedral may be under construction but it is still very much an amazing respite in a busy city. It's a moment to make the crazy, hectic day come to a stop so you can center yourself, and re-set your spiritual battery!

Wordless Wednesday: Check out the #Photo Highlights from @kimcoles show #ohbutwaittheresmore + Mama Butterfly's Birthday!

Have a Great Wednesday Graphic

Butterflies the day I keep it entirely Wordless on a Wordless Wednesday you should probably WORRY! I'm not good at the whole wordless thing which is probably what drove me to blogging in the first place! The reason there are words in this post are a good one. This is a tale of Twitter. And Twitter is what I do best, I'm sort of like the 'Tigger of Twitter' - and you know from Winnie The Pooh, that the wonderful thing about Tigger is that Tigger is a wonderful thing!

Actress Kim Coles is one of the first 'celeb' followers on Ascending Butterfly, Kim and Dita Von Teese are the two first celebs to really get me! With Kim I share a love of inspiring others and much like Wendy Williams says often 'she's like my best friend in my head'. Kim put out the call on twitter that she was hosting a contest to win tickets to her one woman show while the show was here in New York City, and I entered and won! I couldn't have possibly been more excited. One of the things that always excites me about Blogging Conferences is finally meeting the bloggers I've spoken to only virtually for so many years in person. And that is the same excitement and enthusiasm I felt at heading off to see Kim's show.

In fact that night was My Mom, Mama Butterfly's Birthday so we headed off to the West Bank Cafe's Laurie Beechman Theatre together to check out the show and celebrate mom's birthday! (I highly recommend ordering the bottle of Prosecco and the Fried Calamari).

Here are my photo highlights:

Left: My Mom, 'Mama Butterfly' (The Leather Jacket Mama Butterfly is wearing is by Wilson's Leather), Center: Actress Kim Coles, and Right: ME! Ascending Butterfly (the trench coat I am wearing is also by Wilson's Leather!)

My Take:

Most of you probably best remember Kim Coles from the hit television series 'Living Single' that featured an amazing ensemble cast. Her character 'Synclair James-Jones' was sweet and naive and the popularity the show gained brought Kim the Actress fame and success, but like every life journey she has had many challenges along the way, her one-woman show 'Oh Wait, But There's More!" chronicles the arc of her performing career from it's start to where she is today. It's very raw, honest and powerful, her innate sense of humor and good nature shines through all the way. And the meet and greet after was amazing. If a picture is worth a thousand words, these to me are absolutely priceless. It was fantastic to finally meet a 'virtual friend' in person, but the show itself was wildly inspirational and motivational for me and getting the chance to share it with Mama Butterfly on her birthday was literally and figuratively 'the icing on the cake'!

Even on what was supposed to just be a night out to 'just be' I found myself inspired and learning lessons! Another awesome day to be grateful for.

Butterflies if there was a one-woman show (and of course for our male butterflies - a one man show) about your life, What would the title be? Mine? Ascending Butterfly of  course! I'm on an upwards journey!

(Bloggers please feel free to link us to your Wordless Wednesday Posts as a comment here, but please no giveaway links, thanks!)

Photos from The Art of the Score: #Film Week at the @nyphil - Hitchcock with an intermission sponsored by @FAGEUSA!

New York Philharmonic Logo

You know how much I love Suspense/Horror films and when our friends at FAGE invited us to attend 'The Art of The Score: Film Week at the New York Philharmonic - Hitchcock!' you know I couldn't possibly pass that up! Being based in New York City affords me a wealth of events to attend pretty much daily, but this has to be the most unique pairing and most interesting event I've attended lately! FAGE sponsored the show and they offered a tasting during intermission! Brilliant! I'd love to see more brands partner with New York Philharmonic to bring unique intermission experiences to an already iconic New York Institution!

Full Moon New York City
It was a FULL MOON that night!

My Take:

This was a unique partnership and I am so glad I got the chance to attend. I am a big fan of suspense/thriller/horror genre and nothing is more iconic than the work of Alfred Hitchcock! And no matter how perfect your home theater set up may be, a suspense film being brought to life by the New York Philharmonic is an experience, not just entertainment!

FTC Disclosure: This is NOT a sponsored post. This is a random slice of life on a New York City Subway Train where two oversized bags of balloons took over the car and all we could see was the person's feet beneath the bags!  The next day I rode the train with a pitbull (the dog, not the famous singer) and last night I rode with a chihuahua dog in our car! (Neither were service dogs by the way!) These Balloons made me think of Times Square at New Years Eve - I love Black, White and Gold Balloons for New Years Eve, don't you?

Wordless Wednesday: Take me out to the ballgame - Check out my photos from the @Yankees Game and find out how to win a trip to #Florida! #SummerSequel

Kissimmee Summer Sequel

Alas butterflies, summer is winding down and Back-to-School is upon us again. (As a commuter in NYC I'm not looking forward to the teens back on the trains again, but that's a story for another day).

Are you ready for summer to end? I for one, am NOT ready to let go of summer!

As you may remember I co-hosted the #SummerSequel Twitter Party (I saw a ton of butterflies on the party, so thanks so much for your support butterflies), Kiss News Wire, the team that is helping to drum attention to Kissimee, Florida as a fun vacation destination for families, hit baseball stadiums in addition to the twitter party to help draw attention to their super fun 'Summer Sequel Sweepstakes'.

The Grand Prize winner will win a 5 day/4 night vacation for FOUR to Kissimmee, Florida that includes accomodations at Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista South, four 2-day theme park passes, dinner at Capone's Dinner & Show, an air boat ride at Ultimate Airboat Ride and a coach tour with Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida, and if that's not enough a Rental Car also! (Round trip economy air is also included for the winner and four guests!). There are two ways to enter, you can text KISS to 55155 or you can enter online at www.summersequel.com, and if you live in Atlanta the team will be at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia on August 31st. But hurry butterflies, the sweepstakes ends on September 9th!

The Kiss News Wire Team wanted to thank Ascending Butterfly for her help with the tweet up and twitter party and sent family Butterfly to a local baseball game. And no ordinary seats, but in the Delta Skybox at Yankee Stadium no less! Who could pass that up?

On August 20th, the home team pulled a double header and the Yankees swept a twin bill versus the Jays, it was a super exciting game to watch under the light of a beautiful full moon! (By the way Jayson Nix really did it big that night!)

Since this is Wordless Wednesday, I thought I'd share my pictures from the game:
